RetroArch version 1.9.2 released, brings multi soft-patching support, improves GBA emulation on Vita

Emulation frontend RetroArch just got a new update, bringing the program to version 1.9.2. This update adds some nice quality of life features and performance increases on certain platforms. File load times and RetroArch startup times are shorter across the board, and GBA emulator gpSP now works much better on the PlayStation Vita, as it's been optimized heavily since 1.9.1. In other news, 1.9.2 also adds multi soft-patching support, which as the name implies, will apply multiple patches to your ROM files on the fly, so long as they have a matching file name and are in the same folder as the base game, making it easier to deal with games that have lots of patches, such as romhacks or translations. A formatting example is shown in the example below.

Nothing, it was a leftover that got saved when I closed the tab, what It shoild have said was "Plan on PC then."

But I want vierua now.

RetroArch shines on powerful hardware and unfortunately the Vita is not the PS3 that happens to be the bare minimum to make RetroArch tolerable.

Was it so bad for Vita? Now, it seems you can run SNES and GBA games. It's limited, but I wouldn't expect the emulation capability to exceed the Vita itself. As for emulating PSP and PSX, Vita can already do it natively, so there's no point there.

@BakerMan, Any idea what happened? I hope that your brother's doing good.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
He couldn't eat until after his MRI, when he had a bomb pop.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
What matters now is that he's doing alright.
