Yeah, that is exactly why I asking since I saw that video and realized that the other message was outdated.

Is it available somewhere to test?
If you want to test for yourself you can find a mediafire link to a pack of Aroma cores :)
https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/issues/14429 but of course remember the long load times and lack of Core switching ;)
Just place you Aroma Cores in the Cores folder on your sd card :)

Note: with Aroma the Retroarch's Paths are going to be different..
With Tiramisu the Retroarch's SD card path was "sd:/" but with Aroma it will be "fs:/vol/external01" so best to remove/delete your old retroarch.cfg so when you boot your Aroma Core it will generate a fresh retroarch.cfg with the nice new fs:/vol/external01 paths ;)

Yesterday I discovered that Gamepad analog stick has a button inside and that if you push the left one invoque Mame menu

It’s great but I need change this option to other button but I can’t find where this setup
Maybe in the Quick Menu under the Controls option?

Another PS1 Core Update :)
This update fixes Formula One arcade, Formula One 99, Formula One 2000 and Formula One 2001 games, which apparently are hard to get working properly. Well now they work :P Thanks as always to the Lighterc Developer :)

No this is the Peops Core, I'll whip up a Unai build later ;)

Ok another BIG update!!
For those following along the Unai build was recently released and boasted a big improvement to performance but had an issue where the graphics were garbled if the Hires Scale option was enabled, that issue has now been fixed!!
This means the especially slow 3D Fighting games now run at a much more acceptable speed when the Hires Scale option is enabled.

There is a downside of enabling this option which is it Downscales the Res so it runs at a better FPS.. Its a good patch fix for the Speed issue we experience with the Core for now until the underlining issue is fixed... speaking of.. We now KNOW why the WiiU Core is slow where other standalone Wii PS1 Emulators seem to run great, it turns out its to do with Frame BGR555 to RGB565 conversion (?I have no clue?) lol all I know is it causes the WiiU Core to run very slowly, once that issue is ironed out the Core should run as its expected to, without the need for any Dithering/Vsync and Hires Scales options :D

Here's the latest Unai Core, remember to enable Hires Scales in the Video GPU options for the slow games and to expect the game to look alittle lower res because of it.

For the core load times, I think this could be mitigated a bit by having standalone cores like we did in the RetroArch 3DS early days, with each core/emu having its own entry.
That could help to avoid the core switching stuff, but if the cores alone on first boot also take long, then it's still remain an issue.

Yea, even on first boot it takes ages :/ It's like the slow IO issue we had a couple years ago but on steroids :P
Having separate Cores could help some but it still wouldn't fix the main issue, I mean with Aroma the load times should actually be FASTER than Tiramisu not slower lol

Thank you brother @ploggy for the wonderful PS1 core builds.

Juste wondering, were those 3D games originally having hi-res on PS1? Or that's just a Retroarch feature?
If they weren't I can completely disable Hi-res to have an experience like the original PS1.

Thanks!

Yes, some games ran at a higher resolution even on original hardware and those are the ones the WiiU currently struggle with, you can enable the Scale Hires option in the GPU settings which will help alot, but it downscales the res to the lowest PS1 resolution and will make the games look worse. So for now its a trade off. :)
There's a list of games that use the hires feature here:

What are the odds of getting a PPSSPP core working on Retroarch Wii U? And would it possibly run better than the standalone emu port that’s been abandoned for some time now?

It was just a bog standard overclock forwarder, for Gamepad support that would have to be added to the Yabause source too.
I dont even think I have that forwarder anymore.

The new Core is 3 posts above yours ;) ^^

EDIT lol I still have it
Yabause forwarder
Yabause Emulator
Hello,
I tried this Yabause, but I can't play with the buttons of the Wii U GamePad, is that normal ? Do I do something wrong ?
