Can't wait to try the patch out - me and a friend had a laugh playing the multiplayer a month or so back.

Similar to lost magic it seems that you really need to invest the time unlocking spells etc... for it to really open up.

Interesting ! So you DID manage to connect to wifi and play the game online ? I'll try Plstic suggestion today, but if I don't succeed, mind if I ask you how you did it?

When we're sure online works and the patch is out, I expect you all people to leave your "friend" code here ! The game might be played online in 2021 more than it was back then!

Fun fact : when you complete the game the first time, your Mii becomes available as a mage !

The patch is almost completed : the story has been verified, characters' description and various menus are OK, last challenges are about to be completed...

I'm mostly cleaning and polishing and it should be a matter of weeks now.

Barronwaffles, before I put the final touch to my "readme" and the part about online battles, I am unable to go online with Dolphin (My beta tester and I could only play on real hardware).

I have the Nand installed, tried Fix94's "No SSL" code... but so far I haven't have any luck !

Your video seems quite clean.. do you happen to have played on Dolphin and, if it's the case, would you mind giving me your configuration?

That'd be very nice of you.

For the time being, I'm going to install RiiConnect and see if I can send records of my fights to my beta testers, since the system used to rely on Wiiconnect24, which has been discontinued by Nintendo.

I really want to try everything on that regard, before I release the patch and start receiving questions

@Brand Newman I think the issue you're having is likely due to the DNS setting *inside* Dolphin being ignored - as it actually uses the system network adapter DNS to resolve domains.

One option is to set the DNS on the adapter (probably a bit technical for most users), another is to substitute the domains on the image ('nintendowifi.net' -> 'zwei.moe' etc...) with the desired service.

Oh - and that video was captured on normal hardware.

Thank you for your answer. I had tried to change DNS and thought I did it right, but as you say it's a bit technical. I'll give it another go, though, since I agree it's the most probable explanation.

I'll keep you informed. If we can't manage to make it work before the release I have no doubts people better than me will find the solution afterwards!

Here's a little portable WIT based patch kit that I put together a while ago for a friend - haven't used it myself in quite a while but I think it was as simple as dragging/dropping the desired .iso on the 'network patch.bat' file and picking the desired network service.

Good evening, and thank you for your help.

So I used your patch on my iso, and tried it both on real Wii and Dolphin emulator.

I also installed Riiconnect today, since I wanted to see if I could send records of "Takt", a feature that used to rely on Wiiconnect24.

First of all I realized there was a conflict of some sort between Riiconnect and Zwei, since each of them require you to use alternate DNS.

Your patch really came in handy, because that way I was able to keep Riiconnect's DNS (making it possible to access the channels), and still be able to go online with "Takt" on real hardware.

I was wondering if you'd be OK to let me put your files in my patch, so that people can modify their isos easily? I think that would be much appreciated.

Now to the "bad" news :

While I managed to enter the menu to send record of battles sometimes (not always though, the game telling me Wiiconnect24 was off most of the time), I couldn't see any list of friends to send it to. I'll ask MaeseJesus to connect with me this WE to see if it's different when we're both online, but I'm not sure we'll be able to use the feature.

Concerning Dolphin, your patch DID make it possible to connect to Wifi. But the connection crashes at last step (before looking for online opponents), and either gives me :

• 60000 error code, which apparently is related to my friend code, so I tried with a brand new profile to get a new one,
• or 90040 error code, which I am to understand means the connection was cut.

These are baby steps, but I'm glad I could at least find a way to keep Riiconnect on the real Wii :I'll do some more digging, but maybe the answer (if there's any) will be found after the patch is out.

No issues if you want to include it with the patch.

Surprised about the Dolphin connection problems, but I do recall mariokart users having similar issues prior to the game being disabled.
I'll check it out at some point.

I'm very excited for this project, Lost Magic was always an underrated gem on the DS, so to see its sequel get translated is great! Question though, does this game work on dolphin? On the Dolphin wiki, it comes up as 3 stars, starts only. I can get a physical copy if need be, but not being able to make the game HD would be a bit disappointing. Thank you for choosing this game though, makes me happy!

@Clover64 , I can confirm the game runs pretty smoothly on Dolphin, although it can lag a bit from time to time.

About the online game, we can have other fights.

As a matter of fact, each of us can have up to 60 friend codes (I should know, I translated it myself ).

So what do you say we install the patch and then leave our friend codes here, so that we try to raise a little community and make the online game easier to try ?
