I like Robocop, hes cool.

Robocod is better though, that guy goes beyond his limits.

Was I high or wasn't there a Robocop the Arcade Game port to GBA?

I've got that DVD. The cut version seems even more violent than the uncut one. The violence in the uncut version is so over the top that it's almost silly, like cartoon violence. When they took those extra few seconds out it became much more believable.

"Dead or alive, you are coming with me!"

Man, this movie rocks. So many great quotes, and brilliant scenes like when Murphy gets capped or Robocop runs over the melting guy. I want to see the uncut version. I heard there were tons of stuff cut out to meet the R rating.

I hope you didn't pay too much money for that DVD. The newer releases have the unrated, uncut version as well as additional material not found in the Criterion collection.

In otherwords, I don't think its as 'special' as you think it is.

Nope, just a few seconds. The scene where ED209 unloads into the guy in the boardroom, and the scene where Murphy gets blasted to pieces were cut shorter. I don't remember what else was changed, but no scenes were deleted. They just shortened them a bit.

Robocop is one of the few movies that has stood the test of time from my childhood to being an adult. I can't even stand to watch a lot of the stuff I liked back then, but Robocop is still one of my all time favorites.

Gotta watch that movie again.
BUT IMHO Robocop 2 was the best one.

The scene where they test the Cain prototypes was so hilariously cruel... =D

I love Robocop, Starship Troopers and to a lesser degree, Total Recall - all directed by Paul Verhooven. On the surface they appear to be mindlessly violent movies but they all have sly humor and social commentary underneath them.

Robocop arcade is also great!

Total Recall is awesome, did you know that its being remade? Sounds pretty pointless seeing that the original as aged well.

The newer releases also have an incorrect AR. The Criterion edition is the only one that keeps it's OAR. I know the MGM Collection versions are definitely not the theatrical AR.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
