Rules Of #GBATemp

I had a question/complaint regarding the Rules in the #GBATemp

Last night I was in the channel and one of your Operators moderated the room. This prevented non-voiced users from chatting.
I messaged the Operator to ask if he could Un-Mod the room

I got kicked with the kick message 'Dont PM me Dick!

I was not aware one couldn't message someone in private.
So on rejoin I messaged said Operator and told him to F-Off
Which got me banned.

Is that fair? If one is going to Moderate the room then a simple room notice would have sufficed.
Instead the Operator told me it was only for two minutes that he had to do it.
How is anyone to know that.. Moderating a chat room cripples a non-voiced user.

Anyways I was unbanned shortly after, but still, this was power misuse and frankly that sucked.

If your gonna have rules then please state them clearly so in future such incidences can be avoided.

well.....i think that the op u r talkin about wasn't very very gentle whit u. u don't need to be kicked, but u can receive answer to ur question, even if is yes or not.

That was very cruel. Certain Op's need to learn how to control their hot heads and how to be courteous to the users in the channel. So many people want to be an op but don't have the common sense and tact needed to carry out their duties.

Sorry about what happened to you Saria I hope it's gets sorted out.

i was the op that did it!
if i have to set +m on the channel then tough,if u had some patience then this would not of happened but no u pm me without even starting with hello or hi (which in itself is rude seeing as i dont know you) asking me to remove +m!
it was on because people were hammering a trigger like mad and they were told to stop but didnt!
if you have a problem on irc do not bring it into the forum but talk to the op's in the channel please

Operators are there to maintain order - agreed - not too kick every Tom, Dick or Harry who you dont know

Frankly you dont have what it takes to be OP - you proved that yesterday

You flew off the handle for no reason - regardless if one knows you or not

You could have just replied explaining the reasons - but nooooooooo
you abused your Status

to be quite honest i dont care what u think about me!
like i said i put +m on for a reason and if you dont like it then you know what you can do

no one else pmed me to ask why i did it and do you know why??
because they know we dont do things like that for fun and because it will be removed when a op sees fit to do so!

Saria, Just start off by saying "Hi" or something next time. Also, don't sink to the level of the person that kicked you by cursing at them.
djgarf, check your temper. If there was a reason to +m the channel, just post a short message explaining why so you don't recieve PMs if they bother you so much. Also, don't fly off the handle when you get a PM that doesn't start off with hi. Everyone has the right to ask questions because last I heard, the channel wasn't a dictatorship.
Lastly, just get along. The Ops should be providing a good example for the common people in the channel. Just think before you act, and that goes for everyone.

pm's dont bother me but a pm from someone i dont know ordering me to remove +m was not welcomed and i would kick anyone who pmed me ordering me to do something!
if op's were left alone to do their jobs sometimes stuff like this would not happen!
