English translation patch for the Sega Saturn Version of Grandia has been released.
This is final release candidate build 0.9.1.
Most bugs should be resolved, there may still be some out there.
This patches the official English Translation from the Sony PlayStation version of Grandia to the original Japanese Sega Saturn release.
The preferred emulator is Mednafen as it seems to behave the closest to the real deal.
If Mednafen crashes, it's very likely that a real Saturn will crash.
SSF is the next best emulator to use, but there are instances where it will run fine where as Mednafen and a real Saturn will crash.
The patch also works on a burnded cd with real hardware.

Does the Saturn version do anything special over the PS1 version?

I do like the game itself (still own it in fact, while probably fairly pedestrian/by the numbers today at the time it represented something reasonably special) but if it is just a flourish type translation (it is not like the Saturn is easy to come by or mod for that matter) then eh.

Both versions are very similar.
Overall the Sega Saturn version has more details just as John Linneman from Digital Foundry points out in this gaming livestream with the guys from My Live in Gaming.
