Guys just started with this gem. In the main menu you can transfer your old sava data to receive bonus content. Well i got the eu version and the one I am playing is us. So i copy pasted my save file from shin megami tensei IV to Apocalypse. Didnt get the bonus content but when i loaded the game i got this...

How is this even possible? I can play my old save file. When i play the old save game i just start somewhere random. Can't open menu or save my game, I can only walk around and fight demons.. Is this done on purpose or what ? (Sorry for bad eng)

So you imported your save file from the EU version of SMT IV into the US version of Apocalypse using some utility other than the one provided in-game, is that correct?

It seems like the save data structures of SMT4 and Apocalypse are similar enough that when you force Apocalypse to read a SMT4 save file, you get something that kinda-sorta works. This makes sense; they're both using the same engine. It's like how I'm pretty sure you can use Pokemon X save files in Pokemon Y just fine. Your inability to open the menu might be due to the differences between SMT4 and Apocalypse, or it might be due to the difference between the EU and USA versions, or both. I'll be sure to play around with this when I pick up my copy of the game.

In the meantime, try loading your EU SMT4 save file into a US version SMT4 game, if you have access to CIAngel or Freeshop. Boot the US version, load your save file, then save once. Then, assuming that works, import your now-US version SMT4 save into your US Apocalypse game using the normal in-game utility.

Exactly. I downloaded the US version of SMT4, imported my EU savefile, and its seems to work. Then I imported the US savefile to SMT4A and received the bonus content. I could load the the game with the US savefile but then again I can't access the menu. I can walk around, fight the demons(only with the character, it seems I dont have any demons). Also the demons don't attack me...

So they used the same map structure in SMT4A?

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
