Should I reapply MechaPWN after replacing the PS2 laser?

When the time comes to replace the lasers on my PS2, do I still need to reapply the MechaPWN patch?

Should be OK as is. Don't think it affects the laser unit just security chip

I am planning to buy a laser lens and I want to be sure if I have to reinstall MechaPWN.

You got an answer above: The laser has nothing to do with MechaPwn. It will stay like it is after replacement. No need to reinstall.
