Good Evening Everyone!

I just made my account and I thought it would be good Netiquette to reintroduce myself!

My name is Shun and I'm from Germany.
I love Videogames since I'm a little kid (I grew up with the DS and the Wii) and my fascination never died as I grew older! I'm not particularly knowledgeable in any technical field, but I homebrewed every single of my consoles (well, except my PS4 because it has the newest firmware and my DSi because it's simply not worth it imo). I'm a big enthusiast for the 3DS and Vita Homebrew Communities, as I admire their activeness and commitment to these great consoles. The Vita Community in general gave the PSV so much more Vita (🥁) that it singlehandedly made the price for the vita on the used market rise 😅. I'm also one of the proud 77777 Owners of a Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core PSP, so I guess that's cool! (Also modded with Adrenaline ofc). I'm looking forward to learning a ton here and maybe even trying my hand at writing homebrew programs! I'm especially curious about the OG Xbox, as it seems to function just like an old PC! Well, I hope you saw that I'm enthusiastic and I'm hoping that I'll have lots of fun with y'all!

    Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

    @Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

    @SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    @BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

    You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60
