THAT was it, now it's working perfectly! Why didn't any of the guides I read mentioned that UNEEK+DI requires that folder just to run?

It's in the OP as file structure, but I see what you mean.

QUOTEFilestructure for UNEEK+DI:
sd:\bootmii\armboot.bin
sd:\sneek\kernel.bin (renamed boot2_usb.bin)

usb:\sneek\di.bin
usb:\sneek\kernel.bin (renamed boot2_usb.bin)
usb:\sneek\font.bin
NAND
usb:\import
usb:\meta
usb:\shared1
usb:\shared2
usb:\temp
usb:\title
usb:\ticket
usb:\sys

usb:\games\a_game example: usb:\games\RMGE01

Place files respectively and boot your wii

There has been a lot of talk in this topic and for most people it is now common knowledge, but I'll add it to the Troubleshooting part of the guide for some to read for future reference. After all, there is a lot of pages to absorb.

Glad you got it going, thanks to the others for helping people in this thread.

If anyone thinks the guide is missing something that should be added please let me know and I'll get it in there, send me a pm also to make sure I get it as sometimes I can't get back here for a while at a time and I might miss something. Home life and PS3 has been taking up a lot of my time lately.

I still can't figure out why my UNEEK+DI setup isn't working. As much as I hate the idea of doing it, looks like I'll have to start a new setup from scratch. It doesn't load up half the time, JoYflow never loads, most of the time I do anything on the Wii, it just gives me a black screen. Anyone have any clue why it's acting like that?

What revision of uneek and di are you using?

You could try a setup with another nand to see if the problem is related to your emulated nand.
You could try a setup with just one game in the games folder, and delete the diconfig.bin file in the sneek folder to see if the problems are related to the games.
You could try a setup without di to see if di is responsable for your problems. Joyflow won't be able to load games, but I assume it should be able to launch channels without it.

good luck.

I asked it in this post, but since it's more on-topic here, it deserves repeating:

What does the folder \shared1 contain, exactly?
smile.gif

(long story short: there's a conflict with something else in that folder...I want to know what it'll do if I just swap it around for a fresh modmii one with the same system settings).

All I see is a bunch of 8-digit .app files with a hexadecimal name. I know it makes sense to a wii, but it doesn't to me.

Sorry if this is asked before...I haven't read the entire thread.

"/shared1: "Shared" contents that are installed by various channels are installed here."

So, basically, if you change to a clean version of that folder, some vc/wiiware channels will probably not run anymore.
Reinstalling those on the emulated nand should normally fix that issue.

A Virtual Console channel could for instance put the emulator app in there.
Another Virtual Console game for the same console can use that same app.
There is no need it should be stored twice on the nand. That's the idea behind it.

does anyone know if emulated nand for uneek+di still needs to be patched using IOSkpatch.exe in order to get best results??

Thanks in advance.
*bump*

If IOSkpatch is no longer required then I want to remove it from ModMii, if anyone could test for me I would greatly appreciate it. Thx!

No, you don't need it anymore so you could remove it

Thanks a lot!!

@T.Kuranari, IIRC one of the recent s\uneek updates got non-ioskpatch'ed emulated nands working

Hey guys I just set up Sneek+DI with Modmii. I told Modmii to make me a new NAND with the custom Darkwii Red theme, and DIOS-MIOS lite. From what I understand, in order to boot SNEEK+DI you need to load bootmii from the Homebrew channel, and that it will take a while for Sneek to load for the first time. Well when I load it. I only get a black screen for 20+ Minutes. Did I do something wrong?

sneek+di uses hdd(usb) + sd(with nand)
You are making a little mistake there Zizer.

SNEEK+DI = SD + playing wii games from disc

What you are discribing is:

UNEEK+DI = USB + SD access for Homebrew + playing wii games from disc

@Quietlyawesome94: 20 mins. is indeed very long for the first time, with the latest modmii the first time should be considerably shorter...make sure you followed the modmii instructions and copied the nessecary files to the correct destination.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
