Well you work with Sony, not your credit card company. If you do a chargeback you get banned

Technically it’s still good for parts, but that won’t let you recoup your loss. You can give contacting Sony a shot and try to sell them a sob story, but I doubt that’ll achieve much. For all intents and purposes it’s an offline console at this point.

Why would they provide you with updates? It costs them bandwidth

In order to ban the hardware, they need to uniquely identify it.
Theoretically, there should be a way to spoof that hardware fingerprint (even if it's not technically possible on PS5 atm).

Some guy I talked to was talking about getting access buying server and 2fa authentication code from somewhere. The service was about $150. Idk how true that would be. I feel like it bs but I honestly don't know what to do with p5 if that doesn't work. Anybody know anything?

That's almost certainly a scam. 99% of these "hacker for hire" services are scams.
