I have a loophole there, and that is, that (at least in my mind.. ) I specified current bread of chips. But Ryzen falls squarely into that, and apparently is easily OCable to that level (+40% clockrate).
My argument was made from the point of view where everyone really expects 10-20% performance increase from OCing, and that that isn't enough to "rectify" the mindshare the OC market got on the consumer side (open up any enthusiast magazine (= papery blog ), and at least half of the advertising aims at that customer.).
