I'm hearing mixed info on whether flash drives are faster than HDDs. For mounting ISOs, HDD does seem faster, even with the moving parts bottleneck. But installing Game Data for Project Diva F worked wonders as the Room Events had an 0.5s lag per line over USB. Is my experience consistent with others? Maybe there's other variables too, such as feeding ISO data to an optical drive emulator that would make Bluray seem faster than USB.

Sata I: 150 MBps
Bluray: 72 Mbis (9 MBps)
USB 2.0: 480 Mbps (60 MBps)
Ethernet: 100 Mbps (12.5 MBps)
Wifi (G): 54 Mbps (6.75 MBps)

https://www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmagic/ps3-hard-drive.html said so. Probably wouldn't make a difference being Sata II unless SSD / SSHD
Even though it wouldn't really benefit from an SSD in terms of read speed, random reads would greatly benefit from it. The Blu-Ray interface is stuck at 2x, its a CAV drive so access times suck, and I have no idea if there is a way to run it in some kind of CLV mode. I have had certain issues with games running off usb, specifically with Persona 5, where it just hung on a black screen on USB but worked fine off the stock HDD.
