Super Mario 64 Plus "romhack" adds new moves, gameplay enhancements, and permadeath

If you haven't gotten your fill from Super Mario 3D All-Stars, or you needed yet another reason to return to the beloved classic, then Super Mario 64 Plus might be what you're looking for. Acting effectively as a major romhack, but in the form of a fork of the Super Mario 64 decompilation PC port, Super Mario 64 Plus adds all sorts of fun features, like being able to collect multiple Stars in a level, giving Mario new mobility moves from Sunshine and Odyseey, more camera and draw distance options, tons of small tweaks, and modes like daredevil or permadeath, with the latter option erasing all your progress and save file if you ever die. All of the additions have toggles, meaning you can mix and match the options, for a customized experience to your liking.

These features include (but not limited to):
- More responsive controls
- Improved camera
- Extended moveset
- The ability to continue the level after getting a star
- Optional extra modes
- 60FPS support via interpolation
- Various bug fixes

simply because 64 DS's courses are damn-near perfection. There's almost no truly-frustrating Stars; none that have time limits or require tracing a path or insane movement tech. None that are cryptic.
Seems to me there's still plenty of grousing that the changes to the DS version didn't go far enough. Rainbow Ride is still pretty lousy, wouldn't you say?

Not overwhelmingly so, in my opinion; sure, falling and dying is much easier than in practically every other course, but when you know what you're doing? Not really an issue.

I had much more trouble in Odyssey's Breakdown Roads and trace-a-pattern (which is hard, since the outline of the shape you're supposed to be tracing by walking disappears soon after you start) Moons, and 3D World's Plessie levels, and Galaxy's six dysfunctional-motion-controlled Stars and the bloody dessert galaxy, than I ever had in Rainbow Ride.

Also, please stop tweaking the antiquated 64 version, when the superior DS remake exists - all it needs to become perfection is dual-analog controls, really.
The DS game doesn't have its source code decompiled not to mention that nobody came up with dual analog controls for it yet.

I haven't played it myself but i have seen some footage of it and it looks really good!
One thing I dont really like is encore modes colors. Theyre just a bit too bright for me.

I'm not sure if romhack is really the right term here, it's more of a mod. There do happen to be romhack PC ports though, like Star Road for example.

I support any community effort that points out Nintendo's blatant Half-assed attempts on releasing their own IP's

...
DS remake has shit controls and camera and adding analog stick won’t fix it

Also it... looks like shit
For example Bob-mob Battlefield
The N64 version looks colorful and vibrant
The DS version looks dead and dreary

Also adding the extras characters... I hate the way they implemented it
For starters
You start MARIO 64 as YOSHI

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
