Gaming Super mario galaxy 2: How do I get the spin-digger

I got both stars in the spin-dig galaxy, got brought into the engein room, and saw the spin-digger in a case.
I can't find it anywhere else on starship mario. how do I get it out?

I don't think you're supposed to use them
They're just there for display

You do eventually get to use the Cloud Mario powerup, but I think that's about it.

Do any of you kno0w how to get the fire flower onto the ship? Im imagining that to get it you need to finish a level while under the effects of it, but for the life of me I cant find one.

Yeah you get the cloud but I read somewhere you have to beat all galaxies that have that power up in them.
