The latest game in the Mario Party series has been announced for Nintendo Switch - Super Mario Party.

Super Mario Party launches on Nintendo Switch October 5th in North America and looks to take fun advantage of the various capabilities of the Switch.

The Mario Party™ series is coming to the Nintendo Switch™ system with super-charged fun for everyone! The original board game style has been kicked up a notch with deeper strategic elements, like specific Dice Blocks for each character. The game also introduces all-new ways to play, including Joy-Con™ controller enabled minigames, and new modes to enjoy with family and friends. Board game play goes back to the four-player basics as you take turns and race across the board searching for Stars. You can also pair up two Nintendo Switch systems and delight in this dynamic play style, such as in the new Toad’s Rec Room mode. With new modes and new minigames coupled with original board game play, the party starts anywhere, anytime, and with all kinds of players. Super Mario Party is available October 5th!

Only the last 30 seconds of the commercial is any good IMO. I hate how many groups of friends it showed. We get it, the Switch is super portable. Could've just shown the first group, the switches linking, and the showed us a lot of minigame footage. The game looks good, but the commercial didn't showcase enough. The could've cut the commercial to 45 seconds, or just had 1:30 of game footage.

I'm kinda hyped for this. Looks like Mario Party is finally returning to the classic style. Maybe Nintendo finally realized they are killing the series.
I'm still wary though, I'll reserve my judgment for when I get to try it myself and see if it's as fun as the classics were.

yep, Reggie's my uncle, he will grant me the cartridge if i have 3 real friends, but i have no friends TT...

I've been waiting for a new Mario Party game since Switch release I'm so hyped for this and looking forward seeing more of the board mechanics. As far as I can see, it looks like a mix of old Mario Party games with Star Rush's Ally system (You can see allies, an "Ally +1" space and a single minigame featuring allies).

    @Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

    Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    @BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.
