I was always happy with my SC SD. When games did not, patches eventually came out, but they worked. I used to have a good dialog and relationship with Romman as well however he became completely unresponsive and it's apparent they don't care about their slot-2 solutions anymore. Not that I have seen any updates to their slot-1 solution either.

Bottom line, despite the fact that card did what I expected to, I recenty got an R4. If the past is any indication of the future with Romman and the rest of the SC team, my advice would be to stay away.

Not to mention they were the first to announce cheat support in the DSOne well before it was available, however now all of the other slot-1 cards (maybe not all, but most) have them and not a peep from Romman.

The reason I got the original Supercard SD was because it was cheap. I got it when it started playing DS roms and you could only play 32MB games and you had to have the right game cart in slot 1 to save

I've always been pleased with the slot 1 solution. But the Supercard DS I decided to move away from as too many people were not happy with it, so I got an R4.

The supercard team have made too many mistakes with the Supercard DS. The biggest one being it was one of the most expensive slot 1 solutions. Not supporting it now with the firmware updates seems another big mistake. Romman may not be responding as hes fed up with people keep pestering him.

totally agree with xbman.

I originally bought my Supercard SD because of the price and at the time the support was pretty decent with quite regular updates etc but now it seems they have decided to ignored the customers who have a slot 2 device. it's a real shame since I was always happy with it, ok it was annoying when Castlevania POR didn't work but I guess it was a small price to pay when pretty much everything else I wanted to play worked fine.

As a result of the lack of support I purchased a R4 a few weeks ago and am more than happy with it. I've even got my girlfriend to replace her supercard with a R4 as well. I seriously doubt I will be buying a supercard product again and I know I won't be recommending them to people.

Hopefully when they eventually release a new firmware upgrade and/or OS, it will have many new features (that maybe even other slot-1 carts don't have).

Overall I did like the SC SD. It worked fine for me (when the updates were made and/or someone else released patches) - so overall I was pleased with it's NDS support. I really didn't care about extra features like skinning, etc. It was well worth the money and likewise, when I bought it, it was the cheapest solution and have by far the best compatibility (at least for the games I was interested in playing).

I know all of the major players are focusing on Slot-1 solutions, so it may just be time before the all abandon their Slot-2 support, but Romman had to be nagged quite a bit to release his first update in months when several new roms did not work (around the Tetris timeframe). And he seemed to get better with updates but then nothing. He also told me, in confidence, a lot of new features they were planning for the Slot-2 and none of them came to fruition. I have looked at and even considered the DSOne as a potential Slot-1 solution but the fact that Romman does not seem to care much about frequent updates, support, new features, etc. it swayed me away. I think it did (perhaps still does) have potential to be one of the best solutions, but after reading all the glowing reviews of the R4 and seeing the frequent updates and new features they continue to add I knew I could not go wrong with it.

Again, I think the SC SD is a great piece of hardware, but the commitment from Romman and the rest of the team is just not there and ultimately that will cost them customers. I can't tell you how many threads I have read where people went from SC SD/CF to R4 or M3 Simply. This is nobody's fault other then Rommans. So for those still using SC, best of luck, but from my experience, I would seriously consider another solution (R4 or M3) if you are still running a Slot-2 SC and are looking to upgrade.

they never put faster ram in these, I don't know why anyone bothers buying them.. waste of money even if you get it cheap. what they should've done was put faster ram THEN put new models out on the market, but you can see that romman is ignorant as hell.

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.

He couldn't eat until after his MRI, when he had a bomb pop.
