Official DStwo plug-ins can be found here:
The idea of this thread is to create as many plugins as we can, so any plugin is appreciated
Uploading plug-ins
When uploading a plug-in please add:
The bmp icon
The ini icon
NOT THE NDS FILE (Unless there is a requirement in the file)
Please state in your post whether it's (a(n))
Emulator
Utility
Multimedia/reader
Game
Homebrew loader
Add if it works or not and state which Type of DS you own
How to add plugins:
Just copy the Bmp icon and Ini file into the "_dstwoplug" folder and the nds file (ie. DSorganize.nds)
The ini file name is hook to the .nds file.
So if the .ini is name DS.ini anything in the dstwoplug folder that is call DS.nds is going to load when u select it from the menu.
Inside the .ini is the code that hooks the picture/ .bmp and the name shown in the menu.
Example:
Snes.ini <--------------------> Snes.nds
l
[plug setting]
icon=fat1:/_dstwoplug/snesDS.bmp <-------------> snesds.bmp icon shown on menu
name=snesDS <------------> name on scds2 menu
Make your own:
Use traitor's psd's
Then Use Xenon++'s Bmp converter
Features:
  • Can run on Windows/Linux/OSX (if you compile)
  • Can convert any pixels (supports iSmartMultiMedia, not only DSTWO)
Create a *.txt text file and then enter the following text, save the txt file and then rename the *.txt file to *.ini.
Such as homebrew.nds need a *.ini file named homebrew.ini.
CODE
[Plug setting]
Icon = fat1: / _dstwoplug /homebrew software name.bmp
Name = homebrew software name
Plug-in linker
This program creates an nds file that can load a file anywhere else on the cart
so if you have a nds file that has to be run from the root can be used
Plug-in not working?
Find the problem by looking at this (cheers Cannonfoddr)
4968673136_36645da79e.jpg
4968673256_40abba9f72.jpg
4968673332_a4bbc5c08f.jpg
As you can see
IF the 'ini' is missing you get the orange ' ?'
If the BMP file is the wrong bit-depth (i.e 24-bit & not 16-bit) you get 'garbage'
If you don't supply a BMP (or the BMP is named wrongly in the 'INI') you just get a 'blank' space
List and links
Some Plug-ins will require roms, please don't ask for them here
Also some plug-ins may be in the wrong format, if so just rename to a bmp and post here

what program do u use to make these icon. i need my icon to be 16 bit
I use 'GIMP' to convert my graphics to 16-bit, just choose 'advanced options' when saving & choose the 'X1 R5 G5 B5' option

@ alidsl: I've sent you a reply - you don't really need the link to 'lmp-ng' program for my plugin package (even though it is wrong) as my package already contains the program
oh & I've updated the TextDS complete package to include matt140's icon - it's @ http://filetrip.net/file.php?id=11455

Edit - Oh you've changed the program link as I was typing - so ignore my first comment

Glad to see my icon noticed, hehe. Can't think of any other popular homebrew apps to do at the moment :S.

BTW, not a requirement or anything, just wondering if you could add me in the credits for the TextDS2 plugin (just the icon!) on the first post

Hmm... is there a software that allows you to convert pictures to 16-bit without the need for installation? I remember some guy provided one with the MMSF2 Face Picture creator program, but I can't seem to find it again :/

Whenever I load jEnesisDS as a plugin, it loads fine. But when I load a rom the emulator freezes.

Any ideas for a solution?

    @Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

    They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

    It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

    Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

    @SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

    i think only the red mario kart edition phat was v5

    A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

    anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

    if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
    @BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
    You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
    still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
    i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
    It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
