It is a big claim, but ModMii lives up to it... and to be honest I could probably even claim it is THE easiest softmodding method, but instead I said ONE OF THE easiest softmodding methods because I still have respect for the complete softmod guide and xzxero's simplistic mod.
But seriously, u can call me arrogant all u like, but once u've actually used my app to mod a wii, i'm sure most people would agree it is the easiest method (especially if u've ever had to mod a wii the 'old fashioned way' for comparison)
And about the link in my signature, it works perfectly for me on firefox and internet explorer (yes it also shows an ad, but so what? You can just close it). Besides, my signature isn't the only place to access the ModMii page, it is the stickied guide in gbatemp's Wii Hacking section, and its in a lot of other people's signatures, not to mention its on wiihacks.com, and about a million other websites. But google works wonders.
