Here are the headlines: there aren’t any shards – everything takes place on one single server, or “megaserver” as Bethesda have dubbed it. You can play as nine different races and there’s oodles of customisation and specialisation on top. Perks sound particularly interesting – and extremely broad, too – determining everything from vampiric powers and pets to how you replenish your mana on the battlefield.
Combat, meanwhile, is said to be in line with traditional Elder Scrolls action, with attacks and blocks tied to mouse-clicks rather than hotkeys. That said, the video doesn’t convey the sense of brutal kinetic connection you get from a Skyrim ruckus; it looks very much like MMO hotkey combat, even if it isn’t.

The entire thing takes place 1000 years before the events depicted in Skyrim, and all of Tamriel is at your disposal. The Imperial homeland of Cyrodiil has an extra special role, however: it’s the setting of the game’s PvP component. A time of uncertain succession, players of any level can take to the field in massive battles, besieging forts, smashing them with ballistas, and eventually claiming the emperor’s crown for their own side.

For some reason, it looks...cartoonish. It's not to say it looks bad, although I can tell they're reusing models from Skyrim and Oblivion, but there's something off about it, probably the textures. Though they are using some neat shaders not found in Vanilla Skyrim, such as light shafts.

Anyways, looks better then I had initially thought, better keep an eye on it.

For all their fancy schmancy, I've still never seen combat look as good as Neverwinter Night's combat. Everybody's just bashing each other until one falls. Nothing's dynamic, no dodging, no ducking, no side-stepping, no parrying. Of course, you can just drive your character in and out of range, but from an outsider perspective it all looks so ridiculous.

From watching bits of the clip muted, it looks great, but I'm not going to pay a penny for an Elder Scrolls game without first-person combat, and I didn't see anything of the sort.

It looks great! the dungeons have a skyrim look to them, though i can't say the same for the overworld.
i can't say i like the combat, i like how it SOUNDS, just not what i've seen from the video. Especially since they havent announced a First Person view mode

I like how they're going to keep the same art style for areas that were in previous games. Can't wait to go to Vvardenfell and see the old sites. Although I'm kinda disagreeing with the approach they're taking with this (no first person view, releasing using a subscription model then switching to FTP some time later, etc).

But this trailer makes me want to get myself back into MMOs. Can anyone suggest an FTP one that has a solid combat system?
Phantasy Star Online 2, either the JP one(Excellent guides make it easy to play) or wait for the US release.
Seriously, don't be intimidated by the JP release, with the guides or the English patch(Not sure if its still ongoing) its really, really easy to get into the game.

Also, I am having mixed feelings regarding TES Online, but I will wait to see more of it and maybe give it a chance before a final decision :V Its mainly the lack of FP view and the looks of the combat system that's putting me off :C
