Hey, I have a question.
Is there a Wind Waker HD map editor or anything like that?
It would be very cool to edit maps and enemies.
I didnt found on google, just a Wind Waker editor for the gamecube.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's not possible to do it atm

EDIT: I just remembered mods being available for SM4SH, so maybe editing WWHD maps could also be possible

I'm guessing you mean this?

It's a WIP, and the devs update on Twitter,

Yeah, it's for the GameCube version, but that one looks better anyway IMO. Somebody even got the Swift Sail working I believe.

The file format is bfres when you extract via the szs file.

Use this to extact szs files
https://github.com/jam1garner/WiiUZip/releases/tag/v0.7

And for bfres you can do two things.
Texture editing
https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-bfres-texture-injector.422580/

Vertex edting
https://gbatemp.net/threads/alpha-bfres-vertex-tool-aka-most-nintendo-models.443529/

A nice WIP viewer (SMB made the branch, tool developed by Jam, Ploaj, and Y2K)

Git repo of said tool
https://github.com/jam1garner/Smash-Forge

No model importing exists yet but hopefully soon.
This format is used in may games such as

(List by RTB)
Animal Crossing Plaza
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
Game & Wario
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD
Mario Kart 8
Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games

I dont think so..

Exactly. LordNed and Sage of Mirrors' WindEditor is designed to render BDL model files, and the last game to use them was Super Mario Galaxy 2, back in 2010 on the Wii. It would have to be rewritten from the ground up to work with BFRES. Whether the rest of the files and filesystem is the same, I do not know, but I wouldn't bet on it.

hmm i think will wait a couple years until someone made an editor..
It would be nice to edit enemies or add more enemies.

some of the best selling games on the switch are wii u ports (that are priced way too high
like come on 60 for a game thats a decade old??)

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@ColdBlitz, i forgot breath of the wild released for the Wii u
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
$60 for a game that's a decade old might be unheard of on PC but actually is not uncommon on consoles

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
especially Nintendo because they only ever lower the price of games when they do a greatest hits/platinum hits/players choice re-release
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, and the HD collections released for 7th gen consoles too
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but they don't seem to have done any of those for the switch yet and maybe never will
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
I think we all forgot breath of the wild released for the wii u tbh
    +1
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@The Real Jdbye, tbh the HD collections are more justified since they include more than just 1 game per copy
