Same as I done for many in the past
I'd love to know what kind of consoles you've modded in the past. Mine would have to be the Xbox, PS1, PS2, 3DS, Game Boys and the Wii.

I don't, but it's hardly a 'service' to insert a memcard and install FMCB to it... I just don't like seeing people actually making money out of it.
Me neither, especially since its considered free software.

The 64HD from Gamebox Systems. Hardest thing I’ve ever installed. :rofl2:

The included no cut shroud was misprinted. So I can’t put my system back together.

Pre-ordered a Issac Clark Figure. It's the 1st figure I've ever bought. It's coming sometime in the Q1 next year. Only bought it cause I'm a huge fan of Dead Space.

Also bought some zoomed aspen bedding for my corn snake. I need to clean his enclosure and replace the bedding.

Got this bad boy up and running, but sadly It's stuck on Windows 98 vanilla (not SE) and it doesn't read my pendrives + I have no CD burners. I'm actually amazed that it has a DVD player, considering It's a 1999 laptop.
That's pretty awesome. Turn it into a 00s retro gaming rig. :D
Btw, if you want to read USB flash drives, you will need to install a 3rd-party USB 2.0 driver here.

That’s a Compaq Presario 1600. Realistically you don’t want to upgrade past Win98SE on that. It shipped with the maximum allowed RAM: 64Mb. You can’t upgrade it, and Windows 2000 will run like utter dog doo doo. It will run though.

I have no means to do that in my modern computers. That's a big problem.
USB floppy drive?
USB DVD burner? ← At least these are omnipresent.
Put old HDD into external enclosure to copy universal USB driver to it?

It is really not a big deal to get anything for copying data to that machine.
It it was running real MS-DOS, I'd have suggested interlnk.exe and intersvr.exe with a parallel cable.

That is fun.

This page says it can be upgrade to 192MB (which would be the first thing to do with that machine – if possible!)

Ftp with a crossover cable?
Cool idea (if it has Ethernet with installed drives) or with some USB→Ethernet (or PC Card → Ethernet) given the driver CD is present.

=========

I'd install maximum RAM, bigger HDD, USB 2.0 PC Card. Would make a fun computer.

I used to own this same machine. It came in different models. The 16XL256 and the 16XL128. The XL128 could only run 64Mb of RAM. The XL256 could use up to 192Mb. The XL128 was the model that was produced most. I took a stab, assuming it was the XL128 as the odds were in my favor, 🤣

Okay. Didn't find this by searching online (and don't know that laptop myself).

Memory upgrades are just mentioned for the complete 1600 series.

Real bummer if there is no upgrade option. 64MB is pretty low.
