ROM Hack Unicorn Overlord - remove ui element, help needed

I want to remove the fight outcome screen (hide it, blacken it, doesn't matter). I am totally new with ROM hacking. Could a kind soul point me towards some guides or tips on how to go about it?

I'm a software engineer for what it's worth.
