So I figured out the issue. My Wii's date was set to Dec 31, 2035. And Apparently, the Wii, and for whatever reason only the USB Loader, can't read GC Input anymore. No Idea why this is the case. But I found out about it from this smash boards thread.

I while I was case modding I took out the internal battery, and I also powered on the case while the internal battery was removed which caused the weird timing errors.
Hopefully other people who come across this issue will be able to fix it as well.

That explains! I did opened Wii case and yes, it requires taking out the battery tray as it's the last thing that's stopping case from opening. I must have thought it was foam thing when I reassembled the Wii parts together. I also thought it was aspect ratio in the setting, but perhaps it was that I changed the date during that time.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I had to say thanks. Been working on this exact issue for 2 days now.

First of all, I want to say thank you! 4 days searching for a solution and this save my Wii. In my case I was trying to play Sonic Colors using USB Loader GX (and many other loaders), but the Wii aways thought it had a GameCube controller connected (but the Wii is a serial KU model, that is, don't have GameCube ports), so change the date fixed my problem. Again thank you! (Sorry for my english).
