Hacking USB Loading problem after years of useage?

Heya'll,

I wanted to play my Wii again today, using my backups via USB (HDD).
But, all out of a shudden, old and new games start to freeze a after a little on the loading disc part, In the game, not the loader.

The LED indicator on my HDD stops flickering, and nothing happens on screen, it just hangs on the disc loading part, after the health and safety screen of the game.

What could it be?

I tried different USB Printer cabels, neither that did made any difference.

It only seems to happen to Animal Crossing and Xenoblade so far..?
Animal Crossing worked before.. I shall try the original Animal Crossing DVD just for the sake of it.

Original DVD Animal Crossing, works.

First of all, try CFG USB Loader.
What cIOS do you have installed?

after years of usage, is it possible that your HDD just died? can you check it on your PC

It works fine, it's formated in WBFS. And I only bought it for the Wii usage (WBFS).
So it's not THAT old.

But it indeed could be the HDD somehow?

Also, I use the latest stable Waninkoko cIOS 249 rev20b. Which base IOS is recommend?
And I will try CFG Loader, but I guess it won't make a difference though.

you could always try installing a game to a flash drive if you have one lying around. if it works then you know it's the drive.

also, you should update your cIOS. check the sticky in the hacking section of the forum

Wierd thing is, most games work? Mario Kart Wii, Guitar Hero WT...

Only two I've found yet are Animal Crossing and Xenoblade.. :S

Also, I will try CFG in one sec.

@bowser, I thought it didn't work on the other port as it was 1.1, and otherwise not supported by compiled loaders.
cIOS of Waninkoko is using the other port for Wii Speak.

Try updating everything with ModMii. The guide is in the stickies. I think this will give you USB 2.0 support on both ports. And it might fix your drive problem.
