Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 delayed again, not releasing in 2021, development team removed

To say that Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 is suffering from a rough development cycle would be an understatement. The game has faced multiple delays since its initial reveal, had one of its writers and their content removed from the game following sexual assault allegations, the creative director left the team, and now, the game has been pushed back yet another year, while also stripping developer Hardsuit Labs from the project. Publisher Paradox Interactive announced that Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 would no longer be releasing in 2021, delaying it indefinitely. Hardsuit Labs has been replaced, though Paradox did not specify who the new developer is.

This also affects the development of Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, where we communicated a delay during the third quarter of 2020. We have now chosen to postpone the release of the game further, and we will not be launching the game in 2021. We have also decided that Hardsuit Labs will no longer be leading the development of Bloodlines 2, and we have started a collaboration with a new studio partner to finish work on the game. This has been a difficult decision, but we are convinced that it is the right way forward to do the game justice.

Disappointing and even more disappointing that they wouldn't even tell us about the new developers. Still, if this game turns out well because of this, it would have been worth it. I just hope the game doesn't turn out bad or just disappear altogether.

I hope we will still get updates this year.
