Misc Way to convert videos to dpg manually?

Is there any way to convert videos to dpg format preferably dpg 4 manually, with ffmpeg, mplayer or mencoder.
I have seen a post but it is very old and I would like to convert my videos to dpg 4 with thumbnails, forgive me for my english I am using the google translate lol

I have not investigated DPG4 (I did a minor fork of batchdpg way back but it was still MPEG1 and MP2 audio concatenated with a minor header). Later versions added support for another audio type and some more in the way of video options.

The header format is going to be the problem really -- it was nothing major when I looked (type, size, location sort of thing) but I don't know what later stuff would have done or have a particularly good reference of the format to hand, and all the batchdpg forks I saw used a Windows program to make the header. Everything else is... well MPEG1 video raw stream combined with some form of lower power to decode audio that the usual open source suspects should handle with ease.
