So on Saturday, my cat spilled water in my laptop. After taking apart the keyboard, and letting it dry for 3 days, it can finally boot up. Thank God it still works.

However, something is bothering me. Upon start up, it gives, me 5 high pitched beeps, can someone tell me what that means?

I guess it would depend on your lappy's manufacturer.

See, those beeps probably mean some low-level problem or something that you just haven't happened to stumble across whilst messing around on your computer. But the beeps could mean different things depending on the company who made it.

For instance, my ancient Gateway Pentium II will sometimes give me a long beep, followed by two short beeps. Then, the monitor will never turn on, giving me the hint that something video-related has gone awry in the deep crevices of the computer (damn cobwebs, probably).

So, the best you can do is either continue usin' the lappy and hope you never have the misfortune of finding out what those beeps mean, or you could look them up.

Edit: I've been beaten to it. Curse my long-winded solutions.
