Gaming What does it take to be a "gamer?"

To my opinion to be a true gamer you only have to play the games you actually want/like to play even you only play a few games and even if you only play famous games. And you just have to truly love video games medium and not using video games to do crap like pushing your political agendas while you attack gamers. Crap like "you have to own all consoles and play all genres" are pretentious crap for attention whores. Same applies to any other hobbies like anime, movies etc.

The only group of people I don't consider as gamers are normies who literally play 1-2 casual games only at their smartphones to pass their time.

Except games that are better played with touch screen controls like certain DS and smartphone games (mostly puzzle games like Puzzle&Dragons, Puzzle League and Picross).

Or a PC/notebooks/laptop. Also tablets with big screens (10 inches for examples) and a wireless controller are perfect for emulators.

If you are playing games not to kill time, but primarily to find fun or challenge in them, you are a gamer for me.

That's why I don't acknowledge most mobile users as gamers because they are playing games primarily to kill time.
