Hello everyone! I have a Wii U with the latest firmware 5.5.1 and for the last months I could not keep up with all the news in the Wii U homebrew scene. I am considering to homebrew my Wii U but I want to avoid any chance of brick. I do not care about pirating games at all, I do not want custom firmawares and I do not care for Homebrew channel.
The only thing I am interested in is to implement some ( offline of course ) cheats to complete 100% some of my games.
So, my question is very simple. Is there any way ( and without any major modification to the system ) to play your original disc games and implement some cheats nice and easy? Is there any easy tutorial?

( Lastly, I am also wondering if there is a site with code database.)

Thanks in advance!

Cheating requires homebrew launcher. Install Haxchi and then you can do the rest. You don't have to install Haxchi (you can use a web exploit online) but it's a pain If you dont.

Thanks for your answer!

Is Haxchi safe? I mean I am afraid of the slightest possibility to brick my console. Also, can you elaborate about the web exploit onlne?

If you use the official installer (available on the Homebrew App Store) you pretty much have zero chance of bricking your console.
You may see something called CBHC (cold-boot haxchi) which allows you to boot your console straight into Haxchi, which is far more risky. It is not necessary for your use case (simply launching cheating software).

Insert a SD Card and then visit http://wiiubru.com/go/ with your Wii U Browser and choose the Hombrew App Store. There you can download all apps that you need however if you want to install Haxchi you need to buy one of these titles and watch out that you remove any usb storage while installing Haxchi. If you then want to cheat look want to look here and here for a Setup Guide and some cheat codes.

You dont need Haxchi to cheat.
Get Homebrew Launcher
Use any webbased or self hosted exploit to launch it.
Boot TCPGECKO and cheat
If you want to go back to youre stock wiiu get rid of the SDCARD.
Haxchi is just a exploit to load homebrew from a DS VC game instead of the unstable browser exploit both ways cant brick youre console

I read about TCPGecko, PyGecko, JGeckoU,Geckiine and I am completely lost. I do not know what is the most up to date and easiest method to use.
I remember years ago, implementing cheats in Wii games was very simple. We run HBC , we started the Gecko app and after that we booted the game with cheats enabled.
It seems now that the process is very more difficult with PC programs ( I have a PC with Windows XP) and I.P adresses left and right.
Can you tell me what is the most simplified and up to date method for Wii U? Also, if there is an offline method to use cheats, it would be even more easier for me.

( Any link for a good tutorial or Youtube video would be vastly appreciated! :-) )

Yes, I know... But, it is almost impossible to search a thread with 222 pages long. I think we need a page with all the available codes in one place and easy to find.
We actually got one (and this one too). Its even linked in the first post of the thread however nobody cares about that. There also a good amount of cheat codes in the first post. I also looked in the thread for the codes from the games that you requested:
To big for the thread look here
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
99 Lives
00020000 3478633C
00000063 00000000
D0000000 DEADCAFE

And a pointless one
999 Coins
00020000 347863A8
000003E7 00000000

Thank you very much! I greatly appreciate your time and effort to respond!
Unfortunately, I have read the first post ( and the two links) and they seem very outdated regarding the codes.
I am sure now that there is not an up to date database which is constantly updated.
I wish someone put the effort to create one...
