Hey guys I heard some people suffer from the 3DS scratching its own screen lol. Just wanted to know if there is any kind of case that prevents this from happening. I dont really like screen protectors as mine always has bubbles
Plus it helps keep dust off, which I find quite handy since I'm a perfectionist and am constantly wiping off dustif you use one of the silicone cases, they add a layer surrounding both the top and bottom halves which provide enough material to prevent the touch screen bezel from touching the 3D screen when the system is closed. they also do not look as "ghetto" as the super-sized bumpers.

the bad thing about these is the system does latch closed BUT is much easier for it to pop open which might actually make your system more vulnerable to a dropif you use one of the silicone cases, they add a layer surrounding both the top and bottom halves which provide enough material to prevent the touch screen bezel from touching the 3D screen when the system is closed. they also do not look as "ghetto" as the super-sized bumpers.

The 3DS would pop open if you DROPPED IT. The 3DS stays closed EASIER WITHOUT THE SLEEVE obviously. Try it yourself. 1. there is no latch on the 3DS, locking it shut. the axel hinge merely provides a bit of resistance to keep the halves shut. (and I've never had my 3DS "pop" open on its own just because I have a silicone sleeve on it. last time I checked, the halves on my 3DS were not spring loaded
2. if anything, the added silicone will actually protect the 3DS system a bit more, should it be dropped.
3. HORI's cases are large enough to hold a 3DS system with their silicone sleeves installed
and
4. carrying your 2 litre of soda and huge bag of crisps separately will reduce the risk of your fat, stubby fingers from dropping your 3DS
seriously, I store my 3DS in a soft case when it's not in use. the silicone sleeve is just to keep bezel from touching the upper display (when its closed) and from it from getting all "fingerprinty"
