Like some others I always have my phone on silent mode. The problem with that is that unless I'm perfectly still I don't really notice the phone vibrating in my pocket, so I usually miss the few calls I get, most of which are for telemarketing anyways. The only real use I have for my phone is as a GPS. I might look into getting a solely LTE contract if I can find one for cheaper than the cheapest available phone plan.
In the past I did have unusual ringtones, though, such as a compilation of anime girls saying "onii-chan!", Navi saying "Hey, listen!" multiple times, and some denpa music I have long forgotten about. Only the "onii-chan!" one was ever actually used, and it was a single time at a friend's birthday party. My phone was on a table somewhere and everyone gave me odd looks as soon as they heard it.
Wish I could live without a smartphone, but living in a big city and now being good with directions sucks big time. Folks also would rather give you wrong directions than not give you any at all, too.

I use the codec ring from MGS as my ringtone and the saving sound effect from Super Mario RPG as my text tone. I also try to get up at 7AM most mornings if work isn't screwing my sleep up, and this is what I use as my 7AM alarm.
Well, I've found the perfect way to get me to instantly answer every call...
