I fail to see how someone is an asshole scalper, for buying something early and getting 25% more than what they paid for it by holding onto it for a year. If they were charging $600, yeah, screw those guys. 25% seems reasonable to me.

I was referring mostly people who sell for double or triple, reread my post, I specifically stated "200%", and nothing more. I didn't say any other percentages.

You sir, are not correct in the slightest. Scalpers prey on the weak most of the time. Christmas is the best time to scalp because of people just porring money out. I personally hope the scalpers gets their cars scratched, a dog pee on their pants and that their socks always will be missing a pair!

I am not in the favour of overcharging for products or reselling in general. However, I am also not in favour of selectively attempting to control a free market. (One solution would be Rights Management... oh wait... what forum is this again?) The responsibility for making sure you get a good deal on an item has and always will be on the buyer. Swindling has existed as a practice for millennia, it's not pretty but the defence to extortionate marketing is information and caution, not vitriol and spittle. This is true for every scenario when dealing with strangers ("DAE dislike the injustice in the world?" <- solved no problem ever) and if people with more dollars than sense want to bury themselves in Christmas debt, they're going to do it, scalpers or no scalpers - There are more services now than ever that assist with finding the cheapest prices on products.

to answer your actual question you can't find a new or used 1.0.0 switch anywhere, if you wanted one you should have preordered 2.0.0 came out on launch day.
all major retailers were selling 3.0.1 before christmas but you might be able to find a 3.0.0 either new or used second hand but it's going to take looking around

Yep, if you live in country that doesn't move game consoles by the millions (i.e. not UK, USA, or Japan) you have a far higher chance of getting a 1.0.0 firmware console even today. I live in a rural Australian town and they've still got launch day serials.
