Rubbish, There's one plant there. Besides Kyoto there's:-

Redmond, Washington, USA
Richmond, British Columbia, Canada
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Grossostheim, Germany
Suzhou, China.

And they will just assemble parts from other places.

no. The first four are just the main offices! For example Großostheim is Nintendo of Europe, but their is also Nintendo of Uk, Nintendo France etc.
All Wii's are build in China ( by Foxconn as far as I know), like the last two Consoles. The Super Nes was the last one produced in Japan.

If they would build Wii's in Europe or USA, they would be extremely expensive! As far as I know just the Wiimodes were made in Japan.

259 780 South Korean won = 234.58134 US$ (167 €)

In Germany u can find the black Wii + Wiimode and Nunchuck + Sportresort and Wiisports for around 150€:

The worse price you might get here is 199€ for a white Wii

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
