My friends speculated its because of the audience. Japanese horror and American horror are quite different. We were playing Fatal Frame IV and while I was shitting my pants like the pansy I am, they were rather unphased by it. On the other hand, they were consistently scared of Silent Hill 2 (which we were also playing) but eventually it wasn't that scary to me. That's our theory at least.
Plus if these "mature" Wii games don't really sell that well (and honestly, they don't), what would make a mature Japanese horror game sell any better?
It's not that mature-themed games have a black Wii logo on them, games rated C or up by CERO have them.
