If you use nintendont then you know you can't have more than hard drive plugged in at the same time. For a while I've had two hard drives sitting next to my Wii; one with actual Wii games and the other with gamecube games. I was content with physically switching usb cable out etc. But it's a pain when the console is tucked away in its spot. I came up with a basic usb switcher. Concept is simple: It's a 2 to 1 usb device with a simple tactile switch. This device runs on 3.3v but could run up to 5v. If the Wii is turned on the button has no effect, so no worries accidentally spinning one hard drive down and the other up. In the picture the led looks pretty bright, but in reality not so much. There is a pot on board so you can control the brightness to your liking. I still need to apply some double sided tape to keep the switch board in one spot (There are no components on the bottom so it lays flat.)

That's a pretty cool project but I just keep all my games on one drive.

Same, my 2TB hard drive has been more than enough for all of my games, Wii, Gamecube, various rom collections, movies, tv shows, music, I've got a ton of shit all on one drive with still plenty of room to add more stuff.

This is a cool project, but I suspect most people on these forums that have hacked their Wii have by this point gotten a large storage hard drive for all their Wii needs.

My wii drive is 3tb, gc drive is 1tb. I never confirmed if a 4tb would work, and I honestly like my games separated on drives. Its a matter of preference. I'm just showing what I did, in no way am I recommending it to other people.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.

He put it down when the 3ds came out

@K3Nv2, RIP Felix does great videos on the PS3 yellow-light-of-death.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    but that's a long shot
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i think only the red mario kart edition phat was v5

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
