It doesn't matter how many project come out, as long as DON'T add online cheating like "OpenWiiFlow"

Set the example for NO online cheating.

When Wiiflow development stop i was like OMG the coolest loader die, then OpenWiiFlow came out i was like GREAT, but after following OpenWiiFlow development, its kinda disapointing, there aren't any cool feature implement apart from auto update but instead they are focusing on implementing online cheat, THE feature that Hibern disable by default.

Very disappointed lately on OpenWiiFlow, so i am just hopping this New WiiFlow 1.2 GE edition is not gonna turn out into some unnecessary online enable cheat loader.

you will not see this project focusing on getting Online cheating working...at any point..Ocarina issues will not be fixed...play the damn game instead...and there nothing wrong with WiiTDB at all...

its just nice to have a extra place to grab covers from aside from WiiTDB and Muntrue.

and cIOS Rev15 does exist...
biggrin.gif
i assure you

any further questions ask in #wiiflow or #gamingexposed on freenode.

also...we wanted to team up...but certain people dont like affiliation with GE...which a few members of this project have, so i guess that cant be helped. and also i have not seen a version of OpenWiiFlow with a update feature.

This is plain Sad.

I remember when ppl from Ultimate USB Loader (dimok's and Hungyip) joined with Giantpune's project to make GX Loader (and that set the mark for many time).
Even today, it is the most complete homebrew aplication.

Its sad why ppl from the different threads of dev cant get together and make things work... Is that soo hard?

It is not really called OpenWiiFlow, just the open source continuation of WiiFlow.
The focus is not on online cheating at all
Sure, more people may cheat now that it is enabled. But if it wasn't, someone would have distributed his own "enabled" version anyways which amounts to the same.
Should people decide what is right on their own or should they be prevented to do wrong? Is it the job of a usb loader to set an example, or should people set an example by not cheating. everyone will have a different set of ethics.

QUOTE(kLiNiKaL @ Oct 30 2009, 12:02 AM) also...we wanted to team up...but certain people dont like affiliation with GE...which a few members of this project have, so i guess that cant be helped.
Why is an affiliation with this particular website relevant to the project, to the point of creating another version?
To make things clear, people that are friends or linked to GE were never denied to contribute to the current open source WiiFlow project, and are welcome to do so.
If your affiliation to this website was so important that you suddenly had to forcefully shut down all communication and started your own "branded" project then you are right that it can't be helped.

I can't believe what you're just doing there. Soon we'll see the same things implemented twice. And this separation is because you want to search covers rather from a site that isn't the de facto standard than the one that is.. God.

I don't understand what's going on. That makes no sense for me. Why?

You can do what you want with it - its open source, but don't name it Wiiflow 1.2, because it's not an official child of Wiiflow 1.1.
It's just a mod of 1.1 Rx

By the way, Wiiflow is under GPL (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html), you are obligated to publish the source code. If you used one of the open source revisions as base, mention it!

Hi, guys.
I've been using wiiflow with my 16 gig memory stick and there's no any problem at all.
But today, I have a problem with my new external hard drive(seagate free agent 3.5" 500gig)
I've been setting up the hard drive and it didn't work.
Well, problem is when I divided the hard drive into 2 partitions , I made the first partition to NTFS and WBFS to second partition. I know it's stupid. I just wanted to use the SD card and leave the NTFS partition to save original game files. So, my question is, Is there any way to load the games in case of when WBFS is second partition in the hard drive? Hope somebody gives me a good answer. I already put many games in the first NTFS partitoin. Please help me!

Hi all,
I have a drive with two partitions, one WBFS and the other NTFS. I have a WiiFlow folder in the NTFS partition and nothing put into the SD card slot.

In order to use covers and themes does the non WBFS partition have to absolutely be FAT or FAT32? I tried changing themes and it would not change from the default and covers would not download.

Cheers,
M

yes it must be a FAT partition, wiiflow can't read NTFS. The ability for Wii homebrew to read NTFS is fairly recent (other than geexbox) and isn't incorporated into wiiflow.

what is this dumb question ^^

open wiiflow is wiiflow , it's not a different loader....
the wiiflow version of this post is out of date , open wiiflow is the "continued wiiflow"...
and it runs NSMB (patched or not)

I went ahead and compiled a version of WiiFlow r20 for each IOS which includes a fix for NSMB (New Super Mario Bros. Wii) NTSC. The original r20 only has a fix for NSMB PAL, and I'm sure r21 will have a fix for NSMB NTSC, but until then, here you go:
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=9ec5704...7b01fe6e4055ae3

Edit: Just to clarify, the files posted include a fix for both PAL and NTSC, patched or unpatched

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
