New to loading Wii Shop content via USB and emuNand. I have a game called Art of Balande that I installed on my real NAND and confirmed it worked.
I used ModMii and followed it to a T to get my Wii where it is. I dumped my emuNand using the built in option in USB Loader GX. Then used the emuNand WAD manager to install my WAD. It shows up in the game list to launch, but when I do so the game says “Your system file has been corrupted, please redownload and try again.”
Completely new to this. Not sure if I need Neeko? I thought I could just create an emuNand, install using the emuNand manager and be off.
yes, it's usually that simple : dump NAND, install Wad, play.
Art of balance doesn't require neek. it works fine with cIOS v8/10 r52.
if you followed modmii tuto, you should be fine (don't use v10 r53).
you need : d2x cIOS v8 or v10 r52, FAT32, MBR, emuNAND channel option set to Full.
how big is your FAT32 partition? if it's too big (>2TB) it can cause this problem.
if you edited the emuNAND path to be on USB, set it back to SD card and dump it/try again.
if you use USB : be sure you plugged only ONE drive in USB. be sure it's in port 0 (bottom on Wii, backtop on WiiU), don't use flash drives (it corrupts the partition).
I have d2x CIOS v8 installed, USB drive is set to FAT32, not sure if its MBR. emuNAND is set to full.
The HDD is 1TB. I'm not sure where I dumped the nand, but I will redump to SD and try again. I only have 1 USB drive connected and its port 0. Its a standard external hard drive.

If I dumped the NAND with USB Loader GX and installed Wiiware games but then later added a new Wiiware game to my SD Card that I wanted to install, would I then need to redump the NAND and do the whole process again for one new Wiiware game?
I'm not sure what you mean by SD card.
- The official Nintendo "SD menu" located on System menu?
- EmuNAND located on SD ?
if it's installed on real NAND, and moved to SD menu, then dumping the NAND would be useless because the game data would be missing ! the SD menu is not dumped, and therefore won't be on emuNAND.
If it's installed on emuNAND, then there's no need to re-dump either, because it's already on emuNAND.
so, I'm unsure what you are thinking could be a problem, or what you think you should or shouldn't do.

I guess I just don’t fully understand the process of this. But basically, i have wiiware games i dumped to emunand (to play in usb loader gx) that are on the physical sd card. They play fine. However, I recently put a new wiiware game wad onto the sd card that I want to play on usb loader gx. Do I need to redump emumand using usb loader gx for the new wiiware wad? Or can i just install that single wad through the usb loader “emunand wad manager because it was not included in the first emunand dump? Sorry if it’s a dumb question, but appreciate your help, man! Lastly, some wiiware games in usboader used to start fast, but now have a long load time. Just thought I would throw that in there.
just use the option inside USBGX feature menu to add new wads to emuNAND.
the emuNAND wad Manager lets you add wad (single or multiple at once) directly to the emuNAND folder (being either on SD or USB, depends on your settings) without the need to install to real NAND and redump NAND to emuNAND.
if you had to install wad to real NAND and redump it every time you want to add a game, that would defeat the purpose of emuNAND being able to install more than 512MB and more than 48 channels at the same time.
about your speed issue, if it's a speed listing issue, it can be caused by having too much games at the same time. try to backup/format/restore all files to SD, or try a SD card's defrag tool.
if it's a launch time issue, I'm not sure what's wrong or how to fix your speed issue, sorry.
@Cyan Makes a lot more sense. Lastly, any idea on why some Wiiware games through usb loader gx that used to start up fast (a few, not all) now take longer to load, or what may have caused that?
I'm chiming in here because I hacked my Wii last week via Letterbomb and currently have a (hopefully) small problem with WiiWare titles.
I have done / installed:
- Homebrew Channel installed
- Hackmii Installer
- Priiloader installed
- NAND backup created with BootMii - Custom IOS's created (d2x-V10-beta52, base 57, slot 249, revision 65535 / d2x-V10-beta52, base 56, slot 250, revision 65535 / d2x-V10-beta52, base 38, slot 251, revision 65535)
- USB Loader GX installed
- YAWMM installed and show the USB Loader GX as channel
All data is on a 128GB SD card, formatted as FAT32. Everything works without problems, games (wbfs) can be started via the USB Loader, also WiiWare titles can be started from SD card without problems.
Then I created an emuNAND (via ModMii), this is on a 128GB USB stick, also formatted as FAT32. Since the real NAND of the Wii has only 512MB memory, I wanted to display and start the WiiWare as WADs via the USB Loader. The WADs are in a separate folder "/wad" on the stick (and also on the SD Card). I used the emuNAND WAD Manager of the USB Loader to display the single WiiWare titles as channels in the USB Loader. Up to this point everything worked without problems.
Now comes the problem: as soon as I want to start a WiiWare title via the USB Loader and click on it, I still get into the Start menu of the title and when I then press Start the screen goes black for a few seconds and then I get back into the normal Wii menu. The game does not seem to start. Have about 40 WiiWare titles and it's the same problem with all of them! If I put the WADs on the SD card and start them from there, then everything works. Does anyone have an idea what I have to set/change so that the titles start from the USB loader? Could not really find anything helpful on the net, there seems to be this problem and probably has something to do with the cIOS's, but I'm not really clever!
Oh wait!! you are saying we can launch a wad installed on an emunand directly from usb loader gx, and this without load the emunand when we turn on the Wii?
I didn't know that, is that it? More flex and easy than sneek!
Well, actually I am not really good in such technical things, I just created an emuNAND from which I would like to start and play my wiiware games. Once they are displayed in USB Loader and I want to start them, it only brings me back to the main wii menu. So I guess that there are some settings that have to be adjusted, but I don't know which settings that are!
Igf your emunand is well done and your wads well installed on it.
Go in usb loader gx settings to check the paths of emunand channels etc...and what cios is used
and you can search on gbatemp, there are several threads about it. You should find which paths and settings have to be set.
Will check this later, but I already tried that yesterday, actually cios 249 is used. I switched it to 250 but without success.
I also searched gbatemp.net, but it's difficult to find the right keywords to search for.
It would also be a good help, if someone could tell me which exact settings I have to change, because there are a lot different settings in usb loader gx!
Thanks for the help so far!

Just checked back my IOSs on USB Loader GX, I am currently using IOS249, but changing the IOS to 250 or 251 within the USB Loader GX Options won't make the WiiWare Games start. After pushing Start, there's just a black screen for a few seconds and after that it pulls me back into the USB Loader GX.
I then run a Syschek, which you could see here:

Maybe @Cyan could take a look at this issue and give some helping hand?
Just to make it clear: Priiloader, Homebrew Channel, d2x CIOS and USB Loader GX apps are located on my SD Card, as well as the WADs of my WiiWare Games. For the emuNAND (created with Modmii) i am using an 128GB USB-Stick. On the USB-Stick I have two folders, one that is named /nands (all nand files are in here) and an additional folder outside of the /nand-Folder, that is named /wad (all of my WiiWare-Wads are also in this folder in addition to the ones on the sd card).
I used the emuNAND WAD Manager of the USB Loader GX to get the channels of my WiiWare Games into the USB Loader GX, the path I chose was the one where the WADs of my WiiWare Games were located on my USB-Stick!
Maybe there is something wrong with my folder structure? As I said I tried different IOSs in the settings of the USB Loader, but without any success.
I have the same issue. It's all very strange. My VC/WiiWare games work mostly fine when I have a mechanical drive hooked uo to the USB port. BUT, since I started to find the drive pretty clunky, I decided to set everything up on a usb flash drive. That's when the problems started. Wii games work fine but the VC/WiiWare games just seem to restart USBLoaderGX when I start them. Just really weird.
