I am not a programmer or hacker or anything but I was wondering how hard would it be to make a version of wine for the switch? I would love to play windows games on the switch I see people making N64 emulators or SNES emulators for the switch but why not a "windows program emulator"?

I put windows program emulator in quotes because wine is technically not a emulator.

Good luck! Even when you get it running, the speed probably won't be impressive.

If you want a solution to play Windows games on your Nintendo Switch that works right now, check out In-Home-Switching: https://gbatemp.net/threads/in-home...rite-pc-games-to-your-nintendo-switch.526108/
Want to play on the go? Bring your laptop in your backpack and set it to broadcast a Wi-fi signal, or hook up an Ethernet adapter.

Would be pretty great to run BF1942 through Wine on the Switch with network support. My favorite game ever. Especially Secret Weapons.

nah and yes together,
1. we need a mod for Linux that it dont crash by using Videos or something
2. we need a mod for wine that it is working
3. BIGGEST PROBLEM: We will not come over the 10 FPS

but Mineswepper can run ^^

I think too that Linux is not a "real" OS.
I think its something to play with if you want to code something,
but for games naahh

It's only the os that runs the majority of servers the internet operates on. But nah. It's not a real os since it's not best suited for games.

Android software optimization is something else since the developers work on the architecture for years, making it way easier for them to optimize the processing and rendering pipeline with their stabilished hardware, even for the Android homebrew community. The Switch is still being explored with its capabilities to the developers alongside Nintendo. For homebrew community to reach most of the console potential (if it ever will) will take years.

WINE= Wine Is Not an Emulator, is a compatibility layer capable of running Windows applications in other OSs you can't use it to launch games programmed to a diferent cpu architecture.

that look like a stream and u must know that the drivers for the nintendo Switch ArchLinux are not way good like a driver on your phone. My Switch crashes when I try to open Chrome.
