nope, currently.
Ok thanks, but please consider that. Liked the debugger in 1.0, hacked a few games real time where the saves are still encoded after SDF, but thats only for games < 7.x.
If 2.0 can be launched via OOT, I have no need to GW anymore.

It is kinda difficult technically.

I have made some progress for porting NTR 2.0 to EU/US/AUS New3DS.
However, I can't find enough testers which have New3DS in this region (most of my friends have Japan New 3DS). Please test this public beta version if you are interested.

Download link:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/p2n8uw

Install it with this instruction:
http://gbatemp.net/threads/release-ntr-cfw-2-0-for-new-3ds.384640/
(Except scanning EUROPE_USA.png for EU/US/AUS consoles)

Notice:
This public beta version will show an error screen if an unsupported firmware is detected. If it stops on error message like 'firmware not supported' when booting up, please tell me with info like console's version and region by reply this thread or mail to [email protected].
Firmware >= 9.3.0 is obviously not supported, you don't have to test it if you have these consoles.

Confirmed working regions/fw versions:
9.0.0 EU/AUS: Yes
9.2.0 EU/AUS: Yes
9.0.0 USA: Yes
9.2.0 USA: Yes

Since it has confirmed that it works on all possible firmware version in EU/AUS/USA region, I will release the NTR CFW 2.1 soon when I fixed some minor issues.

Well then, that's something I can help you with. I have both the US and Australian units. I'll give it a go on both and see what happens. I never erased my Ninjhax copies of CN from my Sky3DS anyway, I'll just replace their QR codes with yours since Doom's not going to have sound on the N3DS anyway, and I might as well just run the CIA since I can now.

Do you still need a us 9.0 n3ds to test this?

Will it ever support O3DS (because his other thread said he was working on "old3ds and other regions" as well.

If he said he is working on old3ds and other regions then I'd have to guess that, YES it will support it eventually. Right now this is a thread for users to test on their EU and US New 3DSes. I'm sure when it works for the OLD 3DSes he will make another post or edit it.

Well, it seems to work on both my US and Australian N3DS. As I mentioned on the plugin's thread your save manager does seem to have solved the problem of 6.x key save conversions. Still, as happy as I am to have that one save converted, the only other thing I could think of to test was the multi-region. So I tried my US Sky card on the Australian model, and, frankly, EU functionality isn't looking so good. I got several black screens, lockups, and "card has been removed" errors. It even gave me that last one on a game from it's own region. Running EU games on the US unit went much more smoothly on the other hand.

One thing I noticed. A pre-existing Gateway save on the copy of CN can mess things up. I know, I said I was going to overwrite Ninjhax. Well, for whatever reason (maybe I was sleep deprived), I had placed it first on the cart. So, I decided while I was at it to move the Gateway saves up to Ninjhax's position. This caused many problems initially. Since my primary focus initially was to test the save plugin functionality, I decided to dump CN's save (besides, it's crossed my mind to have a look at your payload with a hex editor sometime). Surprisingly, the Gateway payload was still present. So I loaded my Ninjhax saves to the copies I was planning to use for NTR and redid the QR code. Then it started working alright.

So, it works.

Now, I hate to make another request so soon, but there is one thing that keeps me lugging my old 3DS around. And with your CFW running from SysNAND, it's in the perfect position to solve it. DSiWare. I know, you're "anti-piracy" but, with the DS being previous generation, and no longer on store shelves, I thought you might make an exception. Well, only one way to find out. Ask. And no, I don't expect you to pull a 180 on your "no CIA" position. I can use Gateway Mode to install the DSiWare. All I'm asking you to do is enable the execution of unsigned DS code, so I can run "Zelda: Four Swords" on my N3DS. It should be possible to do this while leaving the other checks intact. Besides, it will give me a reason to continue testing your releases (though it's probably not like you're hurting for testers). Since SDF and DSiWare are the only things I've ever used CFW for, as far as I'm concerned, that's the only thing it's missing at this point. Add it, and we can declare the old 4.5 CFW dead at last. And I can leave my old 3DS at home, and only use it to decrypt free eShop content (since it doesn't look like they're going to be able to keep EmuNAND current on the N3DS, we'll always need the old one for game updates).

I still think it would be interesting to see a CFW give the Sky3DS all the capabilities of the Gateway (especially with the Gateway needing a swap now), but I can see that's not where this train is going. The inability to install anything really hurts its flexibility. It's like having the Wii "Homebrew Channel" without the "WAD Manager", a PS3 CFW without a package installer, or a PC that boots from a DVD drive and has neither hard drives nor USB ports. Sure, you've prevented so-called piracy (and therefore reduced sales). Because you've effectively made sure that NOTHING WHATSOEVER CAN BE INSTALLED. Sure, no one can install a downloaded "Majora's Mask" CIA. But no one can install PRBoom or BlargSNES either. You can't even install a game update (and now that 9.6 is out, it's probably much too late to add EmuNAND functionality so that updates can be grabbed from the eShop). If you're really that concerned about misuse, just have the CFW shut the N3DS off upon launch. Then there's absolutely no way anyone can misuse your CFW ;)

Is this a memory based mod that you have to use CN to run every time? Or is this CFW permenant to the sysNand. So once installed every boot it goes into CFW?

When I asked you if it decrypted the saves you said "try it".

Well now I have, and would like to confirm for everyone else wondering, it does.

That's right, cell9's save plugin is effectively SaveDataFiler for retail carts.

Now would be a good time to track down a copy of Cubic Ninja before prices fluctuate again.

Actually, SaveDataFiler works on retail carts too. Gateway just doesn't have a mode that enables CIAs and runs retail carts simultaneously. However, SDF works great with retail carts via Palantine and PBT. It just can't do 6.x saves from those because they both run on 4.5. If there was any CFW for 9.x that had CIA support, or Gateway had implemented a mode such as I described, SDF would do 6.x carts. Not that I'm complaining. This does what I need (well, as far as saves go, if he adds DSiWare support, then it really will do everything I need, but I'm not holding my breath).

I think that last bit of advice is a little late. I'd probably spend more money on the road trip to the closest Gamestop that has one than a Sky3DS costs. And I probably don't even want to know what's happening on eBay. I'm glad I ordered a Sky BB to go with my N3DS back in December. Every use I anticipated possibly having for it down the road has proven true. Besides, the Sky can run multiple copies of CN side by side (for multiple regions if needed). No need to redo the QR code when you want to switch exploits, just press the little blue button (for all the complaints about said button, it makes switching exploits on the N3DS even easier than switching between GW and PBT on the old 3DS -- I have to put in my DSTwo and run rop_multiloader.nds to switch what the profile exploit boots on the old 3DS).

I just recently picked up a n64 from a garage sell, and looking to mod it and add a HDMI port to it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3548173115...044&customid=4f3038da73b61afddf7e5e90f4153856

I'd like to find a power strip and HDMI selector built in 1 unit, so I can select which game system I want, and will switch to that hdmi, and power on that plug/power supply only, so don't have all game systems powered all the time, but can't find anything like. May just have to make something myself.

Maybe start a kick starter page and sell them, yea right. Big N would prob C&D me, not anything Big N related, but just because that's what they do nowdays. Then come out with they own in a year or so.

@Xdqwerty, Nice. Which operating system are you installing?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@SylverReZ, windows 10 and some linux distro like linux mint

    dualbooth
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.

At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

    @SylverReZ,
I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
@Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
