Hi!
I recently installed some stuff on my wii, which I built-in behind my tv. The problem is that, because it is built-in, it isn't that easy to unplug the hard drive that is connected at the back side of it, and place some new content on it. (What I do often)

So I was thinking: Can't I just make it wireless? Something like a usb connector which lets you wireless access the hard drive. But, if you need to put in a usb stick or something, there is a new problem. The problem that there is only 1 port on the drive, and that port looks a bit like the charger of the galaxy S5.

So, if there is any way how you can make the drive wireless, could you guys help me a bit and give the name of the stuff I need? My drive is a Western Digital but I'm not really sure which one. It has 500 GB, maybe that helps?

P.S. sorry for my bad english, I'm from the Netherlands, you know.

I actually saw a wireless WD passport drive in the CustomPC magazine I read today, however it won't really support what you need it for (it's more like a NAS with a built in battery).

What you want is an enclosure that allows access to the drive via USB AND WiFi (either using FTP or probably iSCSI protocols to make it "seen" by computers on the network). As far as I know, this is only possible with SD cards and not USB drives. But I may be wrong - there are many wonderful gadgets in the world.

If you want a solution that doesn't involve removing the drive, I think an FTP homebrew on Wii would be your only option (I know they exist, but I don't know if they will transfer to an attached drive).

Okay, gonna take a look at that. Thanks!

Edit: I just took a look at ftp servers for the wii, and I found a homebrew application (Ftpii) that is able to take control over the SD, NAND AND the inserted USB drive! I already thought about a NAS, but that isn't exactly what I was looking for. (Too expensive, no supported router, no extra usb port) Gonna install this beautiful homebrew part, and see if it works!
