Xbox Hardmod help

Hi friends,

A friend of mine asked me help on installing x3 modchip. I'm new to xbox scene. The hardmod is the easy part.

I just don't know what to do next.
I'm trying to find answers before installation.

So I think the chip come blank. No bios flashed, right?

I have a x3 bios (what is the latest version anyway?) and I also have Hexen 2018 update iso. Do I need anything else?

I think I need to flash the bios via filezilla, burn the hexen DVD, pop it into the console and install xbmc?!

Is this enough?

Some people talk about installing a dashboard? Is it really necessary?

With this simple setup it is only possible to run games from dvd, right?

Maybe an easier Way it would be if the XBox is already softmodded so you can simply use the installed Dashboard and a Disc like HeXEn or SlaYers or AID.

Then you can use one of the 3 Discs

- HeXEn
or
- SlaYers
or
AID (Auto Installer Deluxe)
(my personal Recommendation)

With this you get most of the

- different Dashboards (yes,it is a good Idea you use one for Filetransfer for Example.)
- XBMC (Media Center can also used als "Dashboard "Replacement")
- Emulators
- XBox Tools (for Game Disc Installation for Example)
...
