well its what ive got and it works great for me. The problem with wide angle screens is, although you can see a picture at a wide angle, its still pretty useless because its distorted at that angle. ive got a 22 inch dell screen, quite cheap, full HD resolution ( the viewsonics are supposed to be good though) and although it doesnt boast "wide angle viewing" it still seems to show a picture at wide angles. Or am i missing your idea of "wide angle" *sigh....* pc building has so many little niggles... Good choice with the HDD though, the samsung spinpoints are the best out there, not counting WD Raptors

Realised that the quality between an S-IPS panel and a decent TN panel would be negligable for me so I changed it to a 20" LG monitor. Strange coloured casing but quite good and has height adjustable stand.

@CorruptedAngel: Wide viewing angles refers to vertical viewing angles.
Try viewing a picture slightly below and above your monitor and you'll notice its not the same at all.

EDIT: I'm considering moving to a p45 mobo but I don't see anything that warrants paying almost £30 extra...

EDIT2: Went for the CM-690 case anyway.

If you can hold out on the GFX card, I'd wait til some DX11-enabled cards on the market, as apparently Microsoft plans to bring DX11 out with Windows 7.

A few things to suggest out of experience;

Thermaltake PSUs (at least the cheap ones) I have found to be unreliable. I prefer Seasonic or Corsair myself. I own a Corsair HX520W modular PSU, and it's very very quiet and stable.

The heatsink you chose; I have the same one and it's lackluster. It's not bad for the price, but once you start cranking up the speed on your CPU, the heatsink doesn't perform too well.

I recommend one of those newer direct-touch heatpipe heatsinks, they seem to perform quite well for a little extra. OCZ Vendetta 2 is a good option.

What exactly is your definition of "cheap"? This PSU is costing me almost £50 and I don't find that cheap at all...
The cpu fan will be fine since I'm not going to overclock and I needed an extra fan anyway (going to slap the one the cpu comes with on my old PC).

Asus P5Q motherboard
Intel E8400 processor
Asus GeForce 9800GT
2x2gb Kingston ValueRAM / Corsair DDR2 800mhz
Seagate Barracuda 1tb hard drive / 2x Seagate Barracuda 500gb (SATAII)
Samsung Superwritemaster DVD writer
FSP Group or Nexus 500w 80plus power

Logitech Office Comfort (best keyboard out there, rare as heck though)
Logitech MX Revolution (best mouse out there, expensive though)

Missing a case, possibly a few case fans and the display. I have a 22 inch Eizo FlexScan S2201W which is an awesome display but may be out of your price range.

Cheaply made, as in, lesser quality OEM built.

I'm not quite sure what OEM made the Thermaltake PSUs, but I stand by my choice of Corsair and other Seasonic made PSUs.

Quality is everything for your power source.

your first list was good

except never heard of Arianet ram brand before
g-skill, kingston, and OCZ make good cheap ram

p35 should just go to p45
gigabyte UD3P is a very nice choice (or UD3R), good ratings all around
p5q-pro is problematic, unless you wanna pay alot more for the deluxe ver
also if you stayed P35 you risk getting old bios that will not work with the 45nm CPU's (the computer wont boot, no nothing)
so you would need to get another 775 CPU to flash the bios

other then that the list is good
