Yep, I'm into hacking the game by creating or rather rigging custom characters using 3DS Studio Max. Why? Because I love a good challenge and have learned much about how character animations work 
So far, I have successfully imported roughly 21 characters from other games into Brawl using 3DS Studio Max and looking back, I've come a long way.
Here are some of examples of what I've done
Weregarurumon over Wolf
King K. Rool over King Dedede
Luminoth over Wolf using a size-modifier
Guardian Force Diablos over Gannondorf
Even Anubis (from a game called SMITE) over Ike
General Scales over Wolf
Last but not least the vulpine heroine from SFA, Krystal over Peach
Terra (esper/召還獣 form)
Felicia from Darkstalkers
The other ones I have include Felicia from Darkstalkers, Krystal from Star Fox Adventures, Terra from Final Fantasy Dissidia (Esper form), lots more that I've been able to import. It's hard work, but worth it! Thank goodness it's super easy to test these on Dolphin!
