My brother just died today. [March 5th, 2020]

My brother just died today in a fatal car accident on his way to work. It's suspected that he had a seizure, and floored the gas pedal. He ended up taking out a power pole with just his Acura Integra. My family is suffering this great loss very unexpectedly. He left behind a wife, and a 13 year old daughter. Him and his wife just got married last July, and she's already a widow in less than a year. Absolutely tragic. I went out to see them all today after the devastating phone call from our mother. Andrew didn't even get to see his 35th birthday. He loved working on cars, playing guitar, building arcade cabinets, playing with his dog and daughter, tinkering with computers, and even enjoyed flying in my stepdad's small plane. Andrew is my only sibling, and so our little world just got a whole lot smaller. Rest in peace, little brother.

Thank you all for your amazing support. Losing Andrew doesn't just leave a hole in our lives; It leaves a crater. I'm taking time off from work to figure things out and help my family heal the best we can. You're all incredible, and I'm thankful for you all. Stay safe, my family.

Sorry for your loss Jayro, I'd say it gets better but it really doesn't. I lost my brother on Christmas day 1998 and it literally took me 20 years to get over it.
Keep your head up and remember you have a whole lot of people here to talk to if needed.

Have had several friends lose brothers young, not that after a long and fulfilling life makes it much better. Several were also my friends in and of itself as well.

It is perfectly OK to feel awful, indeed you most certainly have my condolences, but I will also ask would your brother want you feeling bad for that long over it all? I imagine they would be the first person to put their foot up your arse if they found you wallowing or being a bit more destructive. Keep that in mind and remember the good times. Do also look out for your mutual acquaintances that might be doing the same or vulnerable to it.
Last words and arguments are meaningless compared to the general tenor of your relationship so don't get hung up on anything there. Your memory will likely also play some very cruel tricks on you both over the days to come and more long term (I hesitate to include examples but "I can't even remember X" tends to be a common flavour). Human memory is awful though, and powerful emotions don't make it any better, so again remember the good times and don't get hung up on those.

Life doesn't last forever, but your memories of him will.. Would be freaky as fuck if you started getting messages from him like Chisa, but I'd like to think we aren't gone from the world we just take turns living. Try to hold on, keep your chin up, accept the love and friendship around you. Just don't let the loss ruin you. I'm sure he wouldn't want that.

Wish you the best lain.

Did he receive treatment for his seizures? This tragic accident shows how easily accidents on the road occur. Think about it: Every car one passes does not result in death because the driver´s hand do not slip accidentily or because the driver does not fall asleep for a second.

Yeah, he was taking medication for them, but even one missed dose would send him into a seizure and that's likely what happened.
