Hmm... *Stares at my PS4 controller*

I think I know what to do here... That pathetic 1000mAh battery isn't doing anyone any favors. I'll have to work some magic in the coming weeks.

UPDATE: I added a passive "anti-theft device" with my name on it, lol.

This is probably a stupid thing to say, bu once they're back in stock an all, maybe consider modding an Ozobot evo? I have 2 and they're pretty neat. Kinda pricey, though. ($100/bot)

That's why I love the Xbox controllers. They take AA batteries which last ages. IKEA LADA batteries are 2450mAh a piece and dirt cheap. On the other hand, I have two dualshock 3 controllers with a fully dead battery.

@Localhorst86 Lol I didn't know that was the name for the batteries at IKEA :P Ladda means "to charge" so it makes a lot of sense.

G
would disabling/removing the led increase battery life at all? i doubt it's absolutely crucial to the controller's operation

You can wedge paper between the first two ribbon cable contacts on the left, and that will kill power to the LED, but honestly with the LED set all the way dim and a 2000mAh battery mod, the difference is negligible.

The Dual-Shock 4 battery life is horrible. I only get about 2 hours or so out of it from full to blinking warning. It's pathetic. My Switch Pro controller lasts a week almost between charges.

@The Real Jdbye 4-5h is what I get on one charge on my dualshock 4 controllers.

Meanwhile, my Xbox controllers last 15h+

Maybe I just got a bad battery, like the controller sat unused for a long time before it sold, I dunno. I just know it dies way too quickly.

Does the DS4 have more advanced haptic feedback than the others or something or why are they so power hungry?
The Switch Pro Controller easily gets something like 50 hours from what I've heard but it does have a tendency to easily be turned on if left in a bag or on a table it brushes against something on the triggers and if it's paired to my PC it will just sit there and drain the battery, so I never really got to test out that claim.

Seems like you can fit a 2000 mAh battery in there but even with that the battery life is still pathetic compared to the Switch Pro Controller or the Steam Controller (80+ hrs on 2 AAs!) and if you tried going any bigger than that it might make the controller too heavy or require a lot of shell trimming to physically fit. But 2000 seems like it fits just fine.

Yeah, 2000mAh seems to be the sweet spot without the battery getting too big. At 3000mAh they get a bit thicker and wider. Worse case, I could always cut out the battery holder and just sticky tape it into place to give me the extra thickness, but that's really a last resort. 2000mAh should be just fine for this controller. It works the best with my Retropie setup in the spare bedroom.

Since you like putting Jayro on everything. Why not get a tattoo of Jayro on your knuckles. One letter for each finger
