Call of Duty is being attacked at too much

This. While better than Modern Warfare 2, there are way better FPS games out. Multiplayer sucks.

CoD4 was actually relatively amazing. I'll agree that WaW and Black Ops suck shit, and that MW2 was obviously just rushed for teh monies, but 4 was a very well made game. The guns were actually balanced, the story was relatively intense and fun to play (although Veteran was actually impossible on one or two missions without using basically glitches). The online was also very fun and took skill to get down, especially if you decided to try out quick scoping.

You hit MW2 and it's just kind of shitty. There are tons of bugs, the weapons aren't balanced at all (machine pistols doing as much as the rank 70 AK-47...wut?), and the community really went to shit. The story was also a giant cluster fuck of not making sense.

CoD 1 and 2 were great for their time, but feel very dated when played now. The games just can't stand up to the shooters of today due to a dated engine, a lack of weapons, and just a nearly non-existent community. CoD 3 was complete and utter shite. Everything sucked. Everything. WaW and Black Ops are just boring though. They aren't interesting to play for long unless you have other people that you know to play with off your friends list or split screen. The combat is just kind of boring and the story in either of the games isn't that great (though the Black Ops story is leagues better than just another WWII rehash).

The games (with the exception of 4) have never really been the best of their kind though. They have always had a good amount of competition, most of it made better than the CoD series. If IW would just make something as good as Cod4, I would be extremely happy.

Mirror's Edge is the only notable single player game i can think of that DICE worked on . . .

Zombie mode is an addition.

I wouldn't be as upset about that if this iteration of Battlefield were the next installment of the main Battlefield and not Bad Company (despite it being called Battlefield 3 and not dawning the subtitle of Bad Company)

Say what? It wasn't a great game? I think it is, actually. One of the few games that aren't mainstream. I do agree though, it was way too short. The concept, however, was more than fine and should be built upon more.

IMO it's mostly just this forum. All of my friends barring 1 (he's a nintendo nerd) love CoD. It's the people who play "hardcore" shooters or haters that say it sucks. (i.e most people hate on CoD to be ironic and go against the tide of people who like it to stand out.)

And no it's not my favourite game, nor theirs (minecraft is mostly while I like FF)

It's true that a lot of 12 year old kids play CoD because it might make them cool and then play their rap music down their headsets to demonstrate how 'fly' they are.

Call of duty is just a casual shooter that's got the formula right and that's why the general public like it.

If you play games to get some sort of satisfaction out of being a hardcore elite fps player then...
You know the type, the ones who go "hey noob on your halo or your CoD, you would get ripped apart on CS" etc.
Hey noob your console costing $200 is far inferior to my PC gaming rig costing 3 times as much so I therefore am a better gamer and win at life.

I fell for it and bought the First Strike map pack. Every map included is a campfest. I'm trading in my copy of BLOPS to Amazon today.

CoD is great for casuals.
Anyone looking for a real FPS will think it's shit.

and no lol, it is not creative at all. It doesn't have a creative bone in its sad body.
All CoD basically does is combine pretty graphics with casualized FPS mechanics to create a terribly pathetic casual FPS experience.

Go ahead and enjoy it, but don't be offended when FPS gamers hate on the game.
