I think I have too many games to play

Yo,

I bought Red Dead Redemption on Tuesday and finished it today in about 15 hours. Very good game, I must say. But I've got a bloody backlog to go through. On the triple I've got Valkyria Chronicles, Assasin's Creed II, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry 4. On the PS2, I've got SMT: Noctune, Digital devil Saga 1 and 2, BUlly and DMC3. And on the DS, I've got Tales of Innocence. I also want to replay 999 to get teh true ending, Pokemon Platinum, Eternal Sonata and Uncharted 2 whilst messing about more with RDR. Good thing my family don't celebrate Christmas.

I don't play all of them at once. Its just a list of stuff I want to get through, the thing is I buy my games and if I would hate to feel as if I wasted my money. And yes I do have a life :P

Ha, I've been thinking the same thing for quite a while!!
Including XBLA games I've got a good 40 xbox360 games to go through, probably about 20 or so DS games waiting to be played, and well, a softmodded Wii with a 500Gb (not full, but even so) hard drive. Plus Wiiware. Plus emulation.....!! I've kind of given up!
Worse still, I'm ruining my 2 kids gaming pleasure imo - they're just looking at the sheer amount of games available and losing interest themselves... I can remember my gaming as a kid, which consisted of about 3 or 4 Atari 2600 games (LOL at my dad paying £40 per 2600 game in the early 80s...), so I was relatively starved, but that made the next game I got that much better!
Anyroad I've waffled too much and can't remember what the point I was building up to was.... oh well!

This is how I progress through games:
Start game -> Take a break and switch to another game/new game -> forget about first game -> months later remember again -> try playing said game -> realize you have forgotten everything that happened in the game -> restart the game -> repeat.

Remember that games don't always have to be beaten on time. If you look at it, games are meant to be enjoyed and not rush to get it over with it. If you have too many games to play, take a huge break! Stop playing them for a good week or two. Give your mind a break from games.
