Me Thonks on Inanimate Insanity S2E14

The 30 minute "special" finally came out after ~3 1/2 days of staring at the channel page for AnimationEpic. It'll be my first II me thonks, so hopefully it'll be incredibly long. I guarantee that this will be the first time that anybody on GBAtemp has ever talked about II, so go watch the whole second season please. because spoilers r bad kthx

First of all, the episode name of "Hatching the Plan" is genius in a cheesy way.

It starts with Fan having a nightmare about the egg he and Test Tube have been keeping for the past 12 episodes (or ~7 years). That came out of nowhere, and nightmares usually aren't that short. After waking up to see Baxter, Lightbulb's crab (circa episode 11) Fan and Baxter have a small conversation, then waking up Paintbrush, who assumes that Fan is sleep-talking. Fan gets the idea from nowhere (aka Baxter) that "the only thing seperating him from the game is his mind." What kind of a statement is that??? So, Fan runs out, and off-screen, knocks over Trophy's herbal tea. That's a first. Then Fan realizes he's going the wrong way, and breaks Trophy's jar of cacao nibs. Where'd he get that? Then, Tissues knocks on Paintbrushes wall and tells him to quiet down. Tissues still has the condition (it has to be spelled "condi-shawn" apparently). Then Microphone wakes up in the cave as Taco was dragging her for an incredibly long time. She spots MePhone 4 off-screen, and hides behind a rock. You know those memory thing-a-ma-gems from 13? MePhone 4 gave one of those to MePad (the one where MP4 left the facility), so now MePad is up to speed. MP4 rants about how he created II to despise Steve Cobs, but then a weird shockwave goes around and causes MP4 to spawn a living room set. They go to the source (where the contestants are located) to see that Test Tube is carrying the egg, though cracked even more. Baseball and Test Tube banter a bit, where TT becomes "thurious", a combination of thirsty and furious. Fan picks up the egg, awkward silence cues, and then the egg emits another amplified sound, this time making MP4 generate just random stuff and recover Lightbulb. Fan hugs the egg, and it stops. And then Fan is abducted by an even larger egg UFO, and drops his current MePhone (not MP4, a smaller one he usually blogs with). After the intro, MP4 assumes that Steve Cobs arrived to get MP4 (for whatever reason). Then the UFO blasts a laser at MP4 and MePad, as MP4 assumes that Steve always wanted a spaceship, like the UFO that's trying to shoot him. MP4 spawns a shield, and it blocks 3 blasts from the UFO before glitching out. The challenge is apparently to get Fan back, and then MP4 and MePad teleport to a safer place. To prevent the UFO from getting away, TT attaches his taser to a cannon and paralyzes the ship. But if it's paralyzed, why is it still in the air???? TT blows the smoke as if he's Duke Nukem and the contestants discuss how to get up. First suggestion, from Baseball, is to use a big ladder. Lightbulb gets some soda because he drinks when he's oppressed. He said the same thing in episode 12, but instead his reasoning for drinking soda is for when he's depressed. I mean, he's not an alcoholic, it's soda, not alcohol. Microphone then publicly asks TT if the contestants should use his secret lab. TT "congratulates" her on spilling the beans and tells the contestants that they can take anything. TT then tries to tear down the soda machine, where Lightbulb is drinking the soda. TT reasons that because Fan was taken by Cobs, they should channel that anger to tear the soda machine down. So, inside of the egg, Fan and the egg are in a minimalist room. The egg cracks some more, creates another loud noise, and Fan shushes her. The loudspeaker comes on. We go back down, where knife tears down another piece of the soda machine, and tosses it to Suitcase, who then takes it to TT and Baseball, who are building something with the parts. Taco tells Microphone that as smart as TT is, she overlooked the power of MePad's teleportation powers. If Taco and Mic can harness it, then they could get inside easy peasy. Taco tells Mic to buy her time. Suitcase gets more scrap, and then has another hallucination, this time with Fan's MePhone's cracks getting bigger, and eventually getting right below her when she returns to reality. I tell you, she needs to get a therapist after episode 11 gave her delirium from going underwater. TT blames Suitcase for getting Paintbrush eliminated. Baseball tries to reason and for the most part succeeds, until Suitcase says that Fan was eliminated (he wasn't) from II, his favorite game. By this episode, it's easy to see how Fan could prefer any other game, like BFB. Suitcase then says that the thing that hurt him the most was TT, who assumes that it was the egg before SC said that it was him. In the cave where 13 took place, MP4 says to MePad that Cob's arrival is inevitable, so he and MePad should forget everything (or just factory resetting, probably what he meant). MePad says that forgetting about it all is just what Cobs want; to forget and comply, and lose "our largest weapon", the contestants. MePad says that they have to trust the contestants, but MP4 then just had to question the "Their Loss" system where contestants that leave the show temporarily have to return to the contest before it ends or they get eliminated (this system already disqualified Marshmellow), the point being that trust just doesn't work. bruh. MePad leaves the cave. SC has another hallucination on the dock, but it's cut out by Baseball trying to be a therapist or something. SC gets back to work, probably to cover up the hallucinations, which is an awful idea IMO. Knife catches wind, of course. MePad returns to the contest, but behind a bush, Taco has a ray gun. I think you know where this is going, but first Mic pulls out a few wires before Knife spooks her, and then talking to Mic about her partnership with Taco, who in the background, has drained MePad's battery, silences MePad, then turns MePad off. TT rants to Lightbulb about how he was viewed the villain for doing "what's right". Lightbulb "emotionally" then puts a small dent in the ship, explaining that "that was how you acted, TT" and that it's not always what you do and it more about how you do it. TT sorta understands, then orders Lightbulb to get tape for the dent he put. Lightbulb quotes Sonic, and leaves. In the egg UFO, the loudspeaker tells Fan that on the threat scale, he's at a one. Fan claims that he's more threatening than that when he's blogging, demoting his threat level to 0.5. Ouch. The speaker tells that Fan has to put the egg down at a relatively large distance or get shot with a laser. Fan says that he won't let it go (no Frozen pun; it's that simple JnJ), and then the egg hatches into a small ball of light. Then, another egg appears... wait.

If that egg was floating and chained Fan up...

Lightbulb finishes the ship, which is designed for one person. Test Tube goes by his demand. SC asks what TT will do when he gets there, and just says that he'll get Fan back. SC is content, and TT tries to take off. See, the ignition works fine, but then the ship does the not-work thing, and then the contestants get it working again while it's in the air by using the taser. Except that Lightbulb jumpstarted it because as of episode 12, he can apparently send electricity through her arms. Baseball is ecstatic because big ladder. MP4 is proud, while on the warning screen for removing the bad memories. He'd better not do it. Knife says that they need a backup plan if TT fails to return and get immunity. Mic goes over to Taco, who has tea. Oh, and she put MePad into sleep mode. Uuhhh, but didn't Taco shut MePad off completely? If anything, he's most likely in recovery mode, NOT sleep mode. Taco also assumes correctly that Mic thought that Taco killed MePad. Taco can use MePad in Recovery Mode to teleport him and Mic freely to save Fan. bruh. Mic makes Taco promise that they just get Fan, no violence.

Anyways

ALIENS, IT'S ALL EGG ALIENS THE ALIENS TOOK FAN NOT STEVE COBS
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAspecificallyAtheyAcallAthemselvesAtheAPrimeAShimmersAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa

The first question the PS king tells Fan is what the hell he is. Then, he ask where Fan (and TT but they don't know about him yet) got the egg. He explains that he got the egg from mars (as they went to mars in episode 2) and that Fan decided to take the egg with him because he wanted it to feel safe and says that they left the egg there. WRONG; they were stolen. Third question, what the hell is Fan? This time, he doesn't really know.

Then TT comes out of nowhere in the ship and immediately is armed. TT asks where the egg is, and then asks what the egg aliens are; the Prime Shimmer, you know that, it was in all of those As. Fan says that alien life is real. TT says that he'll fix his phone (insert funi Louis Rossman joke). The PS notice the Meeple logo, and then panic because apparently TT and Fan has misunderestimated the extent of how evil Meeple is.

Here's the deal. So Meeple's prior MePhones went to the PS's home planet and asked a bunch of questions about their power source, and in return, they'd get free Meeple products. But then those MePhones were thinking about exploiting the power source, so no more answers. They then proceeded to steal the eggs, a la Angry Birds, the PS went and got all their eggs back, except for two, one of them being the one that Fan and TT took back home. the PS asks if they know where the second one is, they don't know. TT feels responsible, but Fan says that that's not the case. The king says that they searched for eons. I'd be darned if Meeple existed for eons. Fan and the hatched egg have a sappy talk, the king proves that humor exists, and then Taco and Mic appear out of literally nowhere, Taco kills Test Tube, then shoots Fan, and then Mic says that she and Taco come in peace. Yeah, right. Taco aims for the PS, Mic gets in the way, and then Taco says to steal him back. She picks up Zappied Fan, and escape with Taco without the egg. The ship leaves stasis (when was it in stasis? ships in statis don't normally stay flying) and teleports. MP4 returns (he removed the bad memories, didn't he, the rascal.) The rest of the contestants still think Cobs is in the ship. MP4 recovers TT, and Mic returns with Fan (so she gets immunity.) Then, out of ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE, we get a Matrix Parody, but with Taco and Mic, instead of The One and that other guy. In the end, Mic ditches Taco for good.

Elimination time! MePad was kinda killed by Taco, so MP4 just spawns a slow inkjet printer to read the votes. Mic declines her immunity after everybody has voted (because in episode ~9, elimination votes come from contestants instead of commenters, they instead vote on the contest, which you can't do this episode). Long story short, despite only 1 elimination in every other episode... Test Tube was eliminated via votes, and Mic and Fan were also eliminated because I guess they had nothing better to do. Taco is stunned, and teleports somewhere for the time being. TT hands Fan a MePhone X before entering the elimination portal (but it has a thicc bezel, and seeing as TT knows that Meeple is bad, it's probably a variant of Android or something powering the phone instead of MePhone OS) So now we're at the final four. All the contestants are depressed except for MP4 after commiting the cardinal sin:
MP4 is proud, while on the warning screen for removing the bad memories. He'd better not do it.
He pushed the button. Anyways, next episode are the semi-finals.

That would be the end of the review if the stinger didn't exist; let's go look at that. Toliet is on a beach, sees a space shuttle, and wonders what's in it. MePhone X OFC! He even has a taser for Flip Video's sake, who probably uses it on Toliet... erm... more credits to stretch it to 30 minutes. Speaking of which, the one before the stinger featured the BFDI (not the BFB; so it's just Cary and Micheal) team because why not?

Final thoughts below.

Overall, it's a good 30-minute episode made even gooder by how long it took to come out. They managed to look past the major lore discrepancy. Also, Fan needs to get a Gongle Ray (or the Google Pixel if you're lame. pixel represents raster, ray representes vector, aren't i the smartest man in the universe?) 8/10
