The day I stole a macbook air...

... To give it back to the owner.
(edit: Sorry for the click bait title, just noticed XD)
A dude, buddy of the crew of shop where I work (I work with computer and others electronics general repair, in the building with some few floors, he first one is the shop and they rent the other rooms, one that is "workshop" is ) came from Europe with a macbook in hand, that he found on the airport before getting back(according his history).
He asked if he could "reset" it or if he should sell the pieces, we told him to try to give it back and stuff because he could get problem if they got him, it looked like he don't wanted to return it, I was a bit busted because we just passed the election time and everyone where all " Justice, do the right"stuff but everyone here complain about the politics being corrupt and thief, but don't care if they do the same for own gain... Just hopping he made the right decision, the work day ended and I told this history to some friends.
The other day, for some reason the laptop was on the shop! I don't knew why, if he sold it for the guys there or whatever, the adrenaline just hit me "hey let's return that thing!", I just got it and went home (for lunch), there I told my plan that was to try to find the owner by the data there, or just turn it online and wait the owner make a contact/localize by iCloud/iDK(sorry) how its work! Nobody in home agreed it, they all feared the blame get on me , te police get in home and we get problems, but how? I don't even have a passport or get outside the country! I even and my History in discord/whats app telling my friends what was happening and what I should do, so I think it would be alright from this point ...
My father told me that I should get it to the workshop, try to contact the owner there/make backup of the stuff if the worse happened, let the thing where I got it and wait the owner make their own move (And be away from any blame). Don't really worked like this, I went there, made the backup, contacted the owner ... and I got answer! they only wanted the laptop back but was from another country and stuff and since I made the contact I ended up intermediating all. so I told the shop crew about what I did ...
I have to tell that they weren't happy with the history? they also just don't wanted problems and wanted to let the thing there and tell the dude that the " resent" don't worse so they won't dirt they hands.
Making it short, hey helped me and talked with the guy, and made he agree to give it back, the owner was happy and the post shipping was too high, but lucky they had a Brazilian friend that could came and get it to take back to the owner hands! I'm not sure if it's already returned but I'm glad for what I did, so it ended very well right?
I know the guys of the shop only helped me in fear if the dude would be crazy with this or the owner calling police and stuff, more than doing " the right", I got some lecture that I shouldn't do stuff that may give problems to the others, that by " doing the right" some cultures explode themselves in a crowd and a lot of yadda yadda, I was even compared to Don Quijote for "being a dreamer"... well, I'm! but I don't only dreamed, I did!Hey, I was only doing the right thing, what everyone one there could have done but didn't because " Don't wanted problems", if they had their laptop lost they wouldn't be glad if get it! and more, a lot there keep complain about people that do bad stuff, but when they have the chance, they do the same, don't do what they wanted to see...

Well I don't think I deserve any medal or me praised for my doing, actually I wanted to share this because some of us (and I'm one of these) have low faith in the humanity, and we just see bad things being done everywhere, but let's have hope, lets BE the hope! I'm not perfect, I know that, but lets do your best!

good for you, stealing apple products never work out.

Well i went to Walmart a little before midnight to shop and to buy Pokemon Pikachu/Eevee and the lady scanned them, but I then decided I wanted the Pokeball instead of Eevee and she went back and scanned the Ball instead. When i got home I noticed she bagged BOTH versions of Pokemon AND the pokeball, she forgot to put the game back FREE GAME, score!

@SANIC lol i said i would give the eevee version to someone i know already, after i took a few pictures. I actually told'em I'd give them a few other games too... before their smash bros switch came.

i doubt anyone gets fired, and ive gotten free games before many times from mistakes, and bringing it back at like 1am would be weird and most surely would get that person fired lol. plus i already verbally gave it away

You verbally gave but you haven't psychically, why don't return it? I know a shop losing a product is a smaller problem from them than if someone else bought and lost it, but hey if you don't even want it for yourself, and the person yous aid you would give, will not lose or win anything too, like the one that picked the macbook there
